As he finished his story, there was a brief silence between us, the weight of his words settling around us like a warm embrace. The bustling restaurant seemed to fade into the background, leaving just the two of us and his tale of the Tokyo surf.

With a soft smile, I spoke up, "Thank you for sharing that with me. It's a beautiful memory."

He returned my smile, his eyes warm. "I'm glad you enjoyed hearing it, I think sometimes it's the stories we share that truly connect us."

At that moment, I realized how much I enjoyed being in Diego's company, listening to his stories, and sharing these ordinary yet extraordinary moments. 

Our connection wasn't just about the grand gestures—it was in the stories he told, the experiences we shared, and the simple joy of being together. And as we returned to our dinners, the conversation flowed effortlessly, each story adding another layer to the connection we were building.
