Chapter 26 - Chapter 6: Adapting to new life

System: You sad?

Sarah jolted a bit at the sudden system message, her thoughts broken by the unexpected voice. She looked around, her mind still preoccupied with the heavy topic they had just discussed. After a moment, she responded mentally, "Yes, I'm a little sad right now."

The night had fallen upon the temple, and Sarah was gazing from the doorway. She watched as Kenta trained intently with Kaguya. The dim moonlight cast soft shadows on the surroundings, and the sounds of their intense training echoed in the stillness of the night.

System was talking to her whole they were alone

System: Your auto battle time Limit is not limitless you shall work hard too

Sarah listened to the system's words, her brows furrowing in thought. The mention of her auto battle time limit not being limitless caught her attention. She silently acknowledged the system's advice to work hard herself.

Intrigued, Sarah listened to the system's suggestions for increasing her auto battle time limit. The options laid out before her were clear: work on her physical capabilities or achieve a higher ranking.

Sarah pondered on these options, weighing the pros and cons of each. She understood that both paths required dedication and effort, but they would ultimately contribute to her growth. She knew that the time limit of her auto battle mode was a significant factor in her fights, and extending it would give her a strategic advantage.

System: Your current rank is SSR this month

Sarah silently absorbed the information the system provided, her expression remaining neutral. She listened to the system's revelation about her current rank, which was revealed to be SSR. This knowledge left her with a sense of both satisfaction and a hint of determination to improve further.

At morning Sarah and Kenta were in the midst of training, with Jokedone providing guidance and coaching to Sarah. Jokedone's eyes watched Sarah's movements and techniques closely, making adjustments and offering advice to help her improve her skills.

Sarah sought a moment of respite, her body weary from the intense training session. She found solitude on a pillar of the mountain, resting her back against the cool rocks. The night had descended, and a sense of tranquility pervaded the surroundings as the moon cast a soft, silvery glow over the landscape.

System: You look so depressed like in your old life in your old world.

Sarah's heart felt a pang at the system's observation about her looking depressed. Memories of her previous life after death flickered through her mind. It was true, she had been through much turmoil and hardship before, and those experiences still left their mark on her.

"Perhaps," she admitted quietly, her voice tinged with a hint of melancholy. "My past life wasn't an easy one. The struggles and sorrow I faced...they linger within me even now."

System:..your new life is different and better..

A small ember of hope flickered within Sarah's heart as the system spoke. It was true; her new life was different, and the system's words reminded her that it was, in many ways, better than her previous one.

"You're right," she replied softly, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "My new life offers me opportunities and experiences I never had before. I'm grateful for them, truly."

System:..Need an guide?

Sarah's mind perked up at the system's offer, a sense of curiosity piqued. "A guide?" she inquired, her voice tinged with intrigue. "What do you mean? Are you offering to guide me in some way?"

System:. You're depending on me just to much, Maybe Auto battle mode Is good..but it's an emergency skill you can't just relly on me you've to push your limit

Sarah listened intently to the system's advice, her expression turning contemplative. She understood the system's point; relying too heavily on auto battle mode might be useful in a pinch, but it hindered her own growth and potential.

"You're right," she acknowledged, a resolute determination in her voice. "I can't always depend on you. I need to push my own limits and improve my skills independently."

System:.. You've lot of skills...But all are mid or low grade you focus on getting new one not making old one high-grade, you shall.

Sarah's mind focused on the system's words, the realization sinking in. She hadn't paid much attention to developing her existing skills, always seeking new abilities instead. Understanding the system's message, she nodded in agreement.

"You're right," she admitted quietly. "I've been neglecting my current skills. I'll focus on improving their grade instead of just collecting more skills."

Her resolve strengthened, Sarah made a silent promise to change her approach. From now on, she would devote time and effort to strengthening and upgrading her existing skills, rather than solely chasing after new ones.

Feeling newly motivated, Sarah decided to take immediate action. She stood up from her resting spot on the pillar and walked back towards the temple, her footsteps filled with a renewed purpose.

Sarah had been training diligently, and the results were showing. Her body was fitter and more toned, reflecting the intense efforts she had put into her training. Moreover, her skills had improved significantly, all of them now being of a high-grade level. This progress was evident in the increased duration of her auto battle mode, which had extended to 20 minutes.

Kenta's training had shown some progress. Over time, he had managed to gain a bit more control over his Dark Blade, displaying a slight improvement in his skill with it. While it was a modest accomplishment, it was a positive indication that his dedication to practice was paying off.

Jokedone and Kaguya, observing Kenta's progress, were both amused by the subtle yet encouraging development of his control over the Dark Blade. They shared a knowing glance, silently acknowledging the small steps towards mastery they had witnessed.

Sarah arrived at the scene and noticed the amused expressions on Jokedone and Kaguya's faces. Sensing that something had happened, she looked towards Kenta, curious about the cause of their reaction.

Sarah felt Kaguya's arms wrap around her in a warm embrace, a sense of affection and comfort enveloping her. She reciprocated the gesture, returning the hug with a mix of fondness and surprise, not expecting this sudden show of affection from Kaguya.

Kaguya released Sarah from the hug and looked at her with a warm smile, inquiring about her training. "How was your training session, Sarah?" she asked, her voice filled with genuine interest.

Sarah smiled back at Kaguya, still somewhat bewildered by the unexpected affection. "It was good," she replied, her voice filled with a sense of accomplishment. "I've been making a lot of progress. My skills are all high-grade now, and even my au- I mean my instinct H-Haha (she hides System again)."

Kaguya, hearing Sarah's mention of her "instinct," couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, sensing that there was more to it than met the eye. Before she could inquire further, however, Sarah quickly tried to divert the topic, quickly correcting herself.

Jokedone's eyes widened as an intense feeling overwhelmed him, accompanied by a powerful surge of dark energy. His mind raced with thoughts, and he muttered under his breath, "The Shadow of Buddha...? Could it be?"
