Brooke grunted, "It was nothing special, we hit it off after a blind date and started dating after a month." She lied, trying to give a casual and uninteresting answer so Sadie wouldn't probe for more.
"So was it love at first sight?" She gasped at the thought.
In response, her mind flashed back to the time they properly met. She was under his bed, hiding out that he was her abusive husband…ex-husband.
If anything it was fear at first sight.
"Ah, not really. We both started talking and found out we had similar interests. That's all." She replied.
Sadie twisted her lips, "How long have you two been together?"
"How long?" Brooke nervously echoed, scratching the side of her face. Barely over a month? Some weeks?
"We started dating after I resigned from the agency." She responded, not giving a clear answer.
