Brooke had thought that when Thane returned home for dinner she would apologize to him right away and they would make up. Unfortunately, the moment she laid eyes on him, she could not find the right words to say at all.
The dinning room was set, with help from Hannah, who transformed it into a candle lit area, toning down the lights and even going as far as to play some background music.
Brooke inhaled sharply when Thane approached her, psyching herself to say something, anything at all.
"Mr-"
Thane interrupted her with a kiss to her forehead, or perhaps her voice was too low for him to hear. "I can't stay long," he informed her, taking a seat, "I have urgent business to attend to."
Brooke forced a nod. She reached for her glass of water, she lifted it to her lips and tried to take a sip. However she rescinded the idea, and sharply turned to Thane.
"Am I no longer important to you?" she asked, stirring the pot.
