It was morning now, or was it night? I couldn't be sure. There were no windows in the basement, and it was always dark in here unless they switched on the light.
I was not alone this time. Aiden stood at the entrance of the door with his gaze fixed on the phone he was holding. Just then, the door opened, and a maid walked in holding a cup filled with blood. As she walked, my attention was drawn to the cut mark on her wrist. She'd obviously been forced to fill the cup with blood.
The maid set the cup down, and she left. It was too far for me to reach, and I fought to reach for it. The chains tightened around my leg and wrist. I cursed under my breath before throwing my head back.
My hand clenched into a fist as I pictured myself plunging my claws deep into his chest. A small smile formed on my lips. I had told Aiden I would kill him one day, and I was sure I would see to that promise.
