I took a bite of the biscuit on my plate while Tristan was fully focused on his computer.
I drank from the fresh orange juice, tapping my leg on the floor. I was bored, and Tristan had been typing on his computer since morning.
We haven't talked much today. The only words we exchanged were about how he'd summoned Aiden here. Then, he returned his gaze to the computer. I assumed his meeting with the Elders an hour ago preoccupied his thoughts.
I was angry at my wolf for rejecting me when I found her. The vampire wouldn't have been able to compel me with my wolf. I would have been able to investigate my father's death that day. I could have even stopped the vampire from escaping.
I took another bite of the biscuit, chewing it slowly as I scanned the room. We were in Tristan's office.
I looked at him again, my brows furrowing when he didn't glance my way.
"You are distracting."
"Huh?"
