Chapter 85
Aaliyah
Achoo!
I sneezed, struggling to breathe from the harsh smell of petrol. My arms and legs were restrained. I couldn't move. I couldn't even see anything. What happened?
I groaned, frustrated by the lack of air. Why can't I breathe? And what's that rotten smell around me? I felt numb, especially in my head. It was as if my body was slowly defrosting after being frozen for a long time.
Suddenly, the sheets blocking my nostrils and face were ripped apart. I tilted my head to see Hayley and Tristan standing close to me with shocked expressions.
Hayley stood frozen, and she looked like she was on the verge of crying. No, she had been crying for a while. Her cheeks and eyelashes were wet.
Lucian walked closer, wearing a bored expression as if he didn't care whether I woke up or not.
And Tristan—his face was a darker shade of red. His hair was a mess, his clothes were rumpled, and he looked horrible.
