"It's been such a long day," I said to Aaliyah as we stepped out of the car.
She nodded, rubbing her forehead.
"Feeling tired?" I asked.
"Yes," she replied.
"Come. I'll make you dinner," I said, curling my fingers around her wrist. I led her out of the garage, and we walked inside the house.
We went upstairs to my room. After changing into more comfortable clothes, I left the closet and saw Aaliyah dressed in one of my shirts. A smile tugged at my lips as I watched her on her phone.
She sat down on the couch, looking exhausted. Leaving for the kitchen, I put on an apron and poured myself a glass of water.
Taking the salmon from the fridge, I washed it under cool water before placing it on the chopping board. Then, I patted it dry with a paper towel.
