My head throbbed with a dull pain that traveled down to my jaw. I drew in a sharp breath, inhaling the scent of burning herbs. This smelled nothing like the last thing I inhaled. I remembered Tristan collapsing to the ground, Lucian covered in blood, and Amara knocking me unconscious with her magic. Those were the last things I remembered. I cursed under my breath at the thought of Amara.
I vowed to myself that I would kill her, along with Sarah. But how would I accomplish that? I didn't know. There were far more important matters at the moment—like if Tristan was okay. Where am I? Was Hayley safe?
I knew I was no longer in the house, and I feared knowing exactly where I was. I needed to find a way out of here to save Tristan and Lucian. My eyelids felt heavy, and it took a lot of effort to pry them open.
