Chapter 83
Tristan
I knelt on the couch, clutching Ali's hand. I held her as if the warmth from my body could transfer to hers.
Hayley was still standing close to my side after Lucian left.
"Can I get you anything?" she asked.
"No." I shook my head, my gaze still fixed on Ali. "I'm fine."
"Tris—"
"You can leave if you want," I said. "I'm just gonna sit here and wait with her until Lucian returns."
"What if the witch isn't able to raise her from the dead?" Hayley asked. "What are we going to do?"
"I believe the witch is strong enough to raise her. Lucian doesn't like witches, and him bringing one here means he trusts her to help us," I said.
"Brother, we can't trust a witch around Ali. What if the witch knows about the child? She might not help," Hayley said.
I frowned, releasing Ali's hand as I stood up.
Hayley was irritating the hell out of me, and I fought hard to remain calm.
