Aaliyah sat down beside me, all dressed up. We were inside my car, heading to the meeting. Her hair was tied into a ponytail, and her face was well-moisturized.
When we arrived, I stepped out of the car and turned around to open the door for her.
A young man in his early twenties was standing there, waiting to greet us. The man was human, dressed in a dark blue suit.
"Your grace," the man bowed his head. "This way, please."
We entered the building and headed for the elevator. The man pressed the button for the top floor, and once we were in the elevator, Aaliyah took a deep breath.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"Yes," she replied, flashing me a quick smile.
I sighed. Once we stepped out of the elevator, the man led us to the meeting room. The Council members were seated, all dressed formally for the meeting. Alexander was present, his eyes on me as we walked in.
