Chapter 118
Let's head back centuries ago, when Amara was on the run with Vladimir. I think I made a mistake in the previous chapter. Amara's best friend was not supposed to arrive in Russia by plane because, back then, there was no civilization. She had traveled to Russia by sea and land. Also, please note that Tristan and Vladimir's age is about 250. The backstory would go on for a few chapters to get better understanding of Vladimir, Tatiana's, and Amara's relationship.

My heart raced as I sped through the forest with the baby in my hands. My best friend had just died a few days ago after the witches killed her, and now they were after the baby. You know, I could just drop him somewhere around here and let the witches find him, right? But the boy looked so much like the one I lost. My eyes burned with tears as I remembered how he had died in my arms.
