Hot steam gently rose from the bath, swirling around me and comforting my sore muscles. This early morning had been thrilling. I had gone out into the woods to let my wolf explore and for a release. Lifting the glass of wine to my lips, I took a sip. The liquid slid down my throat, leaving a sweet taste of berries and spice. I closed my eyes, feeling my muscles tense under the warmth of the water. The house was quiet; Tristan was out for a meeting, and Kieran was with his aunt. I took another sip, feeling the gentle burn warming my chest.
Suddenly, the door flung open, and I turned to see Tristan standing in the doorway.
"Ali!" he yelled, storming toward me.
"I'm right here," I said. "Do you have to yell my name like that?"
