Zhao Min entered the room, her eyes adjusting to the darkness. She saw Fang Lin sitting in the corner, his face shrouded in shadows.
"Elder Fang Lin, what are you doing up so late?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Kane thought to himself, "Another pawn in my game, how...amusing." He didn't respond, his gaze fixed on some point in the distance.
Zhao Min sat down beside him, her heart racing with anticipation. "You're always so mysterious, Elder Fang Lin," she said, her voice laced with curiosity. "Can't you share your thoughts with me?"
Kane thought, "The darkness within me is a abyss." He remained silent, his expression cold and unyielding.
Zhao Min's eyes locked onto his, searching for any hint of emotion. "I feel like there's something more to you, Elder Fang Lin," she said, her voice soft. "Something beneath the surface."
Kane's gaze finally shifted to hers, his eyes piercing in the darkness. "You are mistaken, Qing Yu," he said, his voice low and even. "I am the darkness, and it is all that I am.In the depths of darkness, there is only shadow, and in the shadow, there is only me'."
Zhao Min's heart skipped a beat at the warning, but she couldn't help feeling drawn to him. "I...I don't understand," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Kane's gaze lingered on hers for a moment before shifting away, his expression still unreadable. "You will, Qing Yu," he said. "In time, you will."
Zhao Min sighed softly, knowing she had to be careful around him. "Goodnight, Elder Fang Lin," she said, standing up to leave.
Kane looked and said quietly, his voice emotionless as ever. "May the darkness consume you."
