Keito Institute was the biggest magus academy in the whole of the Aerthos continent, located south of Light Capital, Solara Kingdom City, twenty kilometers ahead. Being such a great institute, it received sponsorship from the wealthy Light Church and prospered under its development. The circumference equaled ten kilometers and compared to a small city. For the remainder of their academic lives, students would be anchored to the campus by the isolated mountain setting and the many services such as restaurants and clothiers.
Renji approached the massive gate of the Keito Institute. It was intimidating. Arranged with a huge, multicolored crescent moon structure, across all fifty meters of the main entrance were powerful magic scripts inscribed in it.
Those were complex papers, showing the horrifying magical formation of protection that protected this academy. At any rate, the freshers at the entrance formed quite a bundle armed with their admission letters and under processing for admission. Renji scrambled in, document ready. It was 8th February and the term started on 9, so Renji thought that this boy probably came today too, from some nearby area. However he was floored by the boys' origins. The boy mentioned his name as Ryūji from empire of Stormcrest, one of the Four Great Empires to the east of Mountain of Magical Monsters. It would have been at least twenty thousand kilometers from Stormcrest to the Keito Institute, and they'd taken nearly a year just to arrive.
When Ryūji heard that Renji had taken his journey in half a day, he was amazed. In a matter of contrast to their travel times, it became obvious how vast was the world they dwelled in. The two, quite different from one another, quickly became acquainted.
Knowing that Ryūji was undergoing intake procedures, Renji couldn't help but be impressed by the great elemental essence affinity and outstanding spiritual essence, proving just what high quality students Keito Institute had. That became the norm: exceptional talent at Keito Institute.
They only accepted a hundred new students from all of Aerthos each year, with fifty spots going to the Sacred Alliance. So Ryūji didn't find that very fair.
Ryūji had been certain the new guy would turn out no better than he had when testing day came for him. Not long afterwards, though, he was proven wrong. Renji was dual element, earth and wind, which he epitomized with the essence of spirit as high as most outstanding talents. Even Ryūji couldn't say that Renji had made an easy entrance because of his affinity to the Sacred Alliance — not this time, because Renji was so obviously special.
After receiving their student IDs and dorm keys, Renji and Ryūji were informed that they would be sharing a dormitory. Renji was surprised to learn that, unlike Sacred Alliance students, those from outside had to pay substantial tuition fees. Ryūji's old guardian, Grandpa Lomu, paid the fee without hesitation, explaining that this was standard practice, even at other top academies like Stormcrest Academy. As they were about to settle, Draven bid his goodbye to be the protector of Ryūji and the chaperon of Renji, so the boys could explore their new home. Keito Institute was so old and dignified, full of trees and great lakes, tranquil with an air of refinement both boys marveled at. Determined to find their dorm, Renji and Ryūji moved across the large campus, following instructional signs that were supposed to assist new students. Among thousands, their dorm number, 1875, was located in the southern part of the dormitory area. At long last, they finally arrived at their destination to start their journey at the illustrious Keito Institute after all the wandering.
