After 26 days, my sister's Starforce Vision reached Level 2, which is an exceptional accomplishment for a blind person to accomplish in less than a month, designating her as a genius. It typically takes three to six months. I achieved level 1 in knife blacksmithing the next day, and a month and a half later, I reached Level 1 in basic alchemy.
This month and a half has taught me many things and forced me to accept the reality of reliving this world again. My regrets have been tempered by the newfound happiness I've found with Uncle Kaewon, my mother, and my sister. I've come to realize that I've been granted a rare opportunity to change the past—a chance that many, like Grandpa Kaewon, never receive.
After spending this time with him, I've grown to admire him. Despite his hardships, he always greets me with a smile. From him, I've learned how to hammer a knife into shape, even if it's far from perfect. Still, it's good progress for just a month.
I can now create healing potions and basic Rank 1 enhancements in alchemy, however it still takes one week. I even tried to make the Black Death cure again, but the outcome wasn't viscous or dark blue as I recalled. I still have a lot to learn, obviously.
We held a little party at home that evening.
Mother grinned broadly and added, "Congratulations, kids, on your progress and acquiring new skills."
My sister said, "Thank you, Mother, but I'm still not as good as Dajit," despite the fact that I know from a previous life that she is a real genius who, should she survive her awakening this time, will easily exceed me.
"It's because Dajit is a Gemini. He might be naturally good at many things, so don't worry about it. Go at your own pace," Mother reassured her. But that's not true—I had Gemini in my previous life too, yet I achieved nothing significant and just kept losing everyone around me.
"Yes, Mother is right," I added, hoping to calm my sister's competitive spirit.
"To celebrate, why don't we go to Fukuoka City? The Tenjin market will be there for the next three weeks, and your father is in the market that started in the capital and is now stationed in Fukuoka. We'll be there in two days. Your father is one of the big traders of rune stones in the moving market; you'll definitely enjoy it," Mother suggested.
My sister and I replied in unison, "Yes, Mother, we would love to." Oh, we really are brother and sister after all, even though we're not blood-related.
The next day, we were ready to depart with a coachman and five guards, leaving the butler to manage the house. As we were leaving, Uncle Kaewon came to say goodbye.
"Dajit, take care of your sister, and Baroness, say hi to Aiden for me. Return soon; I have much to teach him."
"Yes, Grandpa Kaewon, I will," I replied.
"You brat! How many times do I need to tell you to call me Teacher?"
"Yes, Tea—" As I was going to say.
"Baroness, the supplies are ready for the journey. I think we can leave," the coachman announced, interrupting me.
Mom gave a nod. "Yes, I think we should leave now." We were on our way before I could say anything, so I quickly waved and exclaimed, "Bye, Grandpa!" As we drove away, I caught him swearing under his breath.
We were on our way to Fukuoka City now. My sister made a comment while she was thinking about all the fascinating things in the city: "Maybe we'll find some rare herbs for your alchemy in our journey, Dajit."
The mother chuckled and nodded in agreement. Then, facing Mother, my sister pointed at me and asked, "Mom, why doesn't Brother talk as much as he used to before his celestial emergence?"
"I... I wa—"
Even though I was an assassin, some attacks are hard to evade, but my mother came to my rescue.
"Luna, sometimes with your star, you get a new personality. While he may not act as adorable as he used to, he is still your brother."
I just chuckled and ignored the conversation. The ability to express emotion comes mentally, and even though I've regressed to age seven, my mind is still that of a 24-year-old who has seen hardship throughout his life. My desire is still the same.
After the hardships of my past, I've been trying my best to become strong so I don't lose everything like in my past life. That's why I haven't had enough time for my emotions to develop. I've been so busy learning everything as quickly as I can.
Now, after my regression, this is the first time I've had to sit idly. Constant training helps avoid regrets, but now, seeing myself, it feels awkward. I guess when I get strong and protect everyone around me from the misfortune of death, I might be able to face myself.
The train of my thoughts and the journey continued. At night, we stopped at a village close to Fukuoka City, staying at an inn. The next morning, we resumed our journey. As we travelled and were just close to the city, Luna suddenly spoke up...
