Chapter 104 - Chapter 104

While Di Leina and her team were discussing how to take down the enemy's main ship, the enemy, the Gluttonous (饕餮), were not idle either.

"Feng Lei, our mission to attack Huaxia has failed this time, but we are Void Warriors blessed by my god, Carl," Xionglu said, looking at Feng Lei. If he hadn't already become a Void Warrior, his expression would have been maniacal.

"Yes, we Gluttonous do not fear death. We do not retreat; there are only Gluttonous who die in battle, never those who flee," Feng Lei responded, nodding to Xionglu. He then issued orders to all the Gluttonous warriors aboard the main ship, "Prepare the energy strike. Afterward, everyone mobilize and initiate Operation Godslayer."

"Ready to give our hearts for my god, Carl," all the Gluttonous warriors shouted passionately, placing their right hands over their hearts. The previously low morale due to the unfavorable situation in battle surged once more.

"Energy strike prepared, target: the female captain in the red robe. Fire," Feng Lei ordered the technicians.

At the same time, all the Gluttonous warriors boarded their individual flight units. The hatches opened, and they all simultaneously charged toward the soldiers of the Xiongbing Company on the ground.

On the ground, Di Leina and her team were pointing at the main Gluttonous ship, discussing their strategy, when they were suddenly taken aback by the emergence of the Gluttonous warriors.

"Be careful, the enemy is targeting us," Di Leina warned everyone as soon as she noticed the enemy.

However, just as they were about to prepare for battle, the first wave of energy strikes from the Gluttonous began. A colossal energy beam shot towards the Xiongbing Company, and Di Leina, seeing this, didn't wait for the stunned Zhao Xin and the others to react. She summoned her Dawn Shield on her left hand and charged forward to intercept the energy strike.

With a loud boom, the Dawn Shield successfully blocked the energy strike.

"Ah... This is what you call military might..." Di Leina shouted, bracing herself as the energy strike hit her. Not only did she not retreat, but she also pushed forward two steps. The flames from the impact lit up her face, highlighting her unique beauty.

"Big Sis..." Liu Chuang muttered in awe.

Even Sun Wukong, who was initially indifferent, now looked at this young goddess from Lieyang Star with newfound respect.

As the first wave of strikes ended, Zhao Xin and the others saw Di Leina's Dawn Shield glowing red hot, with the air around it distorting from the heat.

Facing the hundreds of Gluttonous flight units in mid-air, Di Leina simply raised her head, retracted her Dawn Shield, and began hurling golden micro-flares at the Gluttonous.

One after another, the Gluttonous warriors were blasted out of the sky by Di Leina, but not a single one retreated. Instead, this further incited their ferocity, and they charged at the Xiongbing Company with even more desperation.

Qilin, seeing the enemy charge, immediately disappeared into a nearby building, found a suitable cover, and began sniping at the Gluttonous.

Meanwhile, Liu Chuang, Zhao Xin, and Rui Mengmeng quickly positioned themselves in front of Di Leina.

Sun Wukong was about to join in as well, but just as he was about to make his move, he received a message from Zhang Zheng through the communication system. Thus, he quietly retreated to a corner, deciding to be an "innocent and quiet Monkey King" for now.

"You dare attack my Big Sis? See if I don't chop you up!" Liu Chuang charged at the Gluttonous commander Xionglu, wielding his black cutting wheel with a force that made a loud swooshing sound. When it collided with Xionglu's Godslayer weapon, Xionglu was sent flying. He tumbled across the ground, leaving a trench in the asphalt road, his metallic body sparking and scraping, the white paint chipping off.

"Damn, the power of the Norstar War God has grown this much," Xionglu cursed as he tried to take off again, planning to use the aerial advantage to engage Liu Chuang.

However, just as Xionglu lifted off the ground, he felt a gust of wind behind him. There was no time to dodge; a massive force slammed into him from behind, sending his body hurtling uncontrollably towards Liu Chuang.

Liu Chuang, seeing Xionglu being flung over by Ge Xiaolun's greatsword, didn't hesitate. He raised his black cutting wheel and met Xionglu mid-air, slicing him cleanly in two.

Walking over to Ge Xiaolun, Liu Chuang kicked Xionglu's bisected metallic body aside as he went.

"Xiaolun, you're brave! Charging at a main ship all by yourself," Liu Chuang said to Ge Xiaolun with a grin.

"Cut it out, Chuangzi. What's going on? Are the Gluttonous desperate? How come they dared to come out of their shells?" Ge Xiaolun responded.

"How should I know? But Sister Na said these bastards are after us," Liu Chuang replied. "What about you? Did you clear out all the enemies inside the ship? Why is it still floating up there?"

As Liu Chuang chatted with Ge Xiaolun, he didn't forget to slay a few more Gluttonous warriors attacking him, displaying a level of ease that made Ge Xiaolun want to punch him. Ge Xiaolun had been fighting hard inside the ship, while Liu Chuang was casually taking down ordinary Gluttonous warriors one by one.

"What do you think? I killed all the aliens inside, but I don't know why the ship is still floating. I clearly chopped it to pieces," Ge Xiaolun said, continuing to fight off enemies, albeit less efficiently than Liu Chuang, occasionally getting shot by the Gluttonous energy guns, which made him wince in pain.

Currently, Ge Xiaolun's invincible body was still in its second-generation stage, with hardness still inferior to Liu Chuang's third-generation divine body. However, Ge Xiaolun had his own advantage—his fast recovery and the ability to fly. This gave him the upper hand in combat.

While Liu Chuang and Ge Xiaolun casually chatted and fought, Zhao Xin was having a tougher time. He had to rely on his speed advantage, constantly zipping through the Gluttonous ranks, leaving behind trails of golden lightning. In the blink of an eye, he pierced through one enemy after another.

In contrast, Cheng Yaowen was relatively relaxed. Protected by the Heart of the Earth, he had transformed into a master of earth magic. Giant hands made of rock swatted Gluttonous warriors like flies, flattening them into the ground and crushing them until they were nothing more than squashed metal.

The sight was brutal, causing the women nearby to look at him with eyes that said "you're a freak." Cheng Yaowen was on the verge of breaking down; he didn't want to be seen this way, but his current power allowed him to only fight this way.

Cheng Yaowen thought that if this continued, the Guangdun family would soon go extinct. No girl would like a freak, and now all his female comrades had seen his freakish, uh, heroic side. He figured there wouldn't be anyone left who would be interested in him.

However, with his Heart of the Earth genes, an ordinary girl wouldn't be able to bear his offspring anyway! Cheng Yaowen's heart was full of sorrow; he mentally apologized to his father, lamenting that the Guangdun family might end with him because he couldn't find a suitable wife.

As Cheng Yaowen brooded, he fought the Gluttonous even more viciously. It was all their fault—if they hadn't attacked Earth, none of this would have happened. Now they were here, and he was squashing them like bugs, but his image was ruined in the process.

Di Leina shuddered as she watched Cheng Yaowen flatten the Gluttonous. She hadn't realized he could be so ruthless, and it unsettled her. She had held him in high regard and was even considering promoting him to vice-captain.

"Mengmeng, go protect Qilin. Don't let any of the Gluttonous warriors get close to her," Di Leina ordered, though she was still shaken by Cheng Yaowen's brutality. Nonetheless, she remembered her responsibilities and sent Rui Mengmeng to protect their sniper, the only one in the Xiongbing Company.
