Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Skadi?

For many years, Garde had been searching for ways to elevate his hero template level.

He concluded that only through killing could he find his ultimate destination.

However, incessant killing could result in him becoming a butcher like Rekton, eventually drowning in the bloodshed.

Therefore, Garde always restrained himself, never indulging in the senseless slaughter of the innocent.

He only unleashed his killing intent when facing enemies who must be killed.

Just when he thought he had a chance to finish off a miniboss and gain money and experience.

A jungler appeared and took down the miniboss!

Who could he complain to?

Wait, what if this was the enemy jungler?

Ignoring the several Seaborns clinging to him, Garde narrowed his eyes at the head emerging from the water.

You stole my kill?

I–

Bang!

The water exploded, and a black longsword slashed towards him.

Seeing this, Garde didn't hesitate.

Garde's large axe collided with the longsword, a tremendous force striking from the other end, making him focus intently.

Such strength!

His strength was nearly at the ceiling set by his current level.

If the same level of physical strength were calculated numerically, reaching this level would be 41, but Garde was at 50.

He was just one step away from surpassing the level set by the panel.

Despite this, facing the owner of the black sword, Garde still found himself at a disadvantage.

Garde couldn't help but glance at the attributes of the black sword's owner.

Skadi?

Seeing this name and thinking of the Sea Terror hanging on him, Garde immediately understood why Skadi had attacked him.

Did she mistake him for a Seaborn?

After a missed strike, Skadi retreated and looked at Garde more seriously.

It was her first time encountering a Seaborn of this size that could withstand her attack. And what was that in the Seaborn's hand, a weapon?

Since when did Seaborns use weapons?

Without thinking too much, whether the Seaborn wielded a weapon or not, she'd just kill it!

"Skadi, your name is Skadi, right? Laurentina mentioned you to me–"

Swish

Garde's brain couldn't keep up with the speed of Skadi sword swing. Just as he finished speaking, Skadi's sword had already struck his face.

Crack!

The sword got stuck.

Forced to use his teeth as a weapon twice in just two days, Garde was exasperated. But what choice did he have? For a crocodile man, the strongest part of his body was his jaw.

Though he had transformed from a crocodile to a crocodile man, his powerful bite force hadn't diminished.

As Garde lifted his head, Skadi was yanked out of the water.

With no ground to leverage, Skadi in mid-air was in peril, especially as Garde's hands were free and Skadi's were occupied with her sword.

Unless she abandoned her weapon!

Clearing her mind of distractions, Skadi had no intention of surrendering. Even if this creature knew Laurentina, what did it matter?

She wasn't close to Laurentina!

As Garde's fist swung towards her, Skadi, holding her longsword, used its hilt to perform a perfect gymnastic maneuver in the air.

Unable to use the ground for leverage due to her height and her weapon caught in Garde's mouth, Skadi used Garde's body as a pivot point.

A 180-degree backflip handstand.

Skadi sat on Garde's crocodilian face, her thighs clamping his jaw, pulling back the horizontally held sword hilt.

Ah, what blinds my eyes?

But in this critical moment, Garde couldn't afford to enjoy the softness of Skadi's bottom, as his teeth were barely holding.

Skadi was much stronger than Gladiia.

Garde could withstand Gladiia's slashes several times but couldn't let Skadi cut into his mouth.

Garde raised his hands, grasping Skadi's bottom, trying to push her off his face.

But Skadi, seeing victory within reach, wasn't about to give up.

Her powerful thighs nearly suffocated Garde, who thankfully had enough Physical endurance to hold his breath for a long time.

It was a test of strength, a battle to see who would exhaust first.

"Garde!"

"Skadi!"

Suddenly, Garde heard two voices. One was Saria's. The battle between Garde, the Seaborn, and Skadi seemed long but happened in the blink of an eye.

Recovering from the Seaborn's sonic interference, Saria immediately rushed towards where Garde was.

The other voice was also familiar to Garde.

"Let him go!"

"Let him go!"

The two voices echoed again, but Garde and Skadi made no move.

To Garde, either voice could be there to help him.

Skadi thought Laurentina would surely help her.

But after waiting a while, neither of them received the help they expected.

Saria and Laurentina had started fighting each other!
