Lorent was sitting under a tree. He stared at Zuri, and probably for the first time, Zuri noticed the exhaustion in his eyes, but she hated the pitiful look that he gave her.
"Why didn't you give me to Khaos, you can ask for your mate back." Zuri cracked her knuckles, feeling a little bit fidgety. "What is your end game? Why do you take me to the Great Palace?"
Zuri realized that she didn't have much time left before her mind demanded for the drugs. She could relapse anytime.
The drugs not only gave her an illusion of happiness, but it also numbed the pain in her stomach, the claws from one of Lorent's warriors would glare at her whenever she cleaned them up. They must have taken a good chunk of her flesh, because her stomach looked very ugly now.
