"You heard that?" Khaos asked casually, he sat down next to Zuri on the bed. This was the second time he was the cause of that mortified look on her face.
Zuri frantically shook her head. She looked around the room, but the two men had gone. It was only her and Khaos inside his bedroom.
After her breakdown of seeing her own reflection on the mirror, she fell asleep and was woken up by their conversation. Overheard the information that she shouldn't. All of this felt like a dream. A lot of things happened in the span of a very short time.
"I didn't hear anything." Zuri was trying to lie her way out, thinking Khaos might want to kill her to silence her, despite the fact it was his fault for not taking any precaution. He should know that she might wake up and listen to it.
Khaos caressed her cheek. "You can be a good liar sometime, Zuri, but right now, it's not that time."
