Chapter 102 - Chapter 102: Dragon and Snake Power

"Hurry up and retreat to the north wall!"

Lily dodged a flash of golden light, wielding her holy sword to fend off a barrage of weapons. She turned and urged the Uruk soldiers to fall back.

Outside the Blood Temple, chaos reigned as the Chaldeans scrambled to evacuate.

There was only one reason for the panic.

Kingu's white robe fluttered violently in the turbulent energy, his emerald eyes now tinged with blood red. The pressure emanating from him was even more overwhelming than that of Gorgon.

After all this time, they'd misidentified the final boss...

"Have Mash and Miss Jeanne's defenses been breached?"

Gritting her teeth, Lily charged forward, slashing at Kingu. To her shock, the holy sword effortlessly severed one of Kingu's arms.

Before she could react further, an intense sense of danger surged through her. Almost instinctively, Lily rolled to the side.

In the next moment, the severed arm transformed into a streak of golden light, sweeping past where Lily had been. Lily glimpsed a massive tree being reduced to dust by the same golden streak.

"You!"

Kingu didn't give Lily a chance to regroup. Before she could recover, he kicked her into the air and sent several treasures flying toward her.

Clang──

Phew!

The clash of weapons and the sound of blades piercing flesh were almost simultaneous. Lily was sent crashing to the ground, a short blade embedded in her right abdomen and left shoulder.

"Have you dealt with most of them?"

Kingu's gaze was icy as he raised a spear with his remaining hand. Even so, there was no sign of resistance.

"Enough," came a commanding voice.

A colossal pterosaur suddenly swooped down from the sky, its wind pressure making Kingu squint and step back.

However, the pterosaur's target didn't seem to be Kingu.

As the pterosaur ascended again, Lily had vanished, replaced by a woman whose attire was anachronistic.

"Are you here to stop me too, Quetzalcoatl?"

"Really? It's just a weapon, yet it's driven by emotion. Is that really acceptable?" Quetzalcoatl replied with a chuckle, bending slightly and assuming a fighting stance.

"Hmph."

A cold light flickered in Kingu's eyes as a faint golden aura emanated from him.

But just then, Kingu's expression changed. A purple beam of light shot up from Uruk, catching his attention. His blood-red eyes momentarily glinted with golden light before fading away.

"Oh my, what is this?"

Quetzalcoatl also noticed the beam of light, but by the time she turned her gaze back, Kingu had disappeared.

"What's happening? Is the magic reaction too intense? Wait, the device… over here… Da Vinci, please help!"

Roman's panicked voice and the mechanical overload sounds on the communicator made Ritsuka sigh.

It seemed they couldn't rely on the doctor anymore...

Looking at the beam of light, Ritsuka's face showed a hint of sadness.

Despite being mentally prepared, the situation was more complex than anticipated.

What could be the source of magic power so intense it overloads Chaldea's detectors?

"Anyway, let's get back as soon as possible!"

───────────────────────────────

"Ugh…"

Siduri was drenched in sweat, clutching the wand tightly, her eyes glowing with a faint purple light.

She could feel the immense power coursing through her after the pain subsided, but she struggled to control this overwhelming force.

There was no time to delay!

Siduri gritted her teeth and looked south through the purple dragon snake.

An unimaginable and monstrous horde was advancing towards Uruk, their sheer numbers overwhelming even the dragon and snake's perspective. Their grotesque appearance was so disturbing that even Siduri, a seasoned priestess, was shaken.

She couldn't bear to think of what would happen if Uruk fell to these monsters.

With renewed determination, Siduri raised her staff.

"Yin──"

In response, the dragon's roar echoed throughout Mesopotamia. The Ouroboros magic circle above the dragon and snake blazed with intense light as violent magic power gathered in front of them.

The Dragon God slowly opened its mouth.

Suddenly, a golden light flashed as Kingu reappeared before the dragon and snake.

Siduri's eyes widened in shock as she recognized the familiar yet unfamiliar figure.

Before she could react, a blinding light as intense as the sun appeared in Kingu's hand, and he swung it downward.

In an instant, a golden sword light cleaved through the sky above Uruk.

Yet, the sword light failed to achieve its intended effect.

A purple hemisphere covered Uruk, absorbing the golden light with ease, its power incapable of penetrating the magical barrier.

Kingu's face darkened slightly. Before he could act further, a powerful blow struck him, sending him crashing to the ground outside Uruk.

The dragon and snake roared as their tail, which had attacked Kingu, turned around and impaled the spot where he fell, propelling him back into the sky.

The dragon and snake opened their mouths, unleashing a torrent of purple magical flame that engulfed Kingu.

In the next moment, a burst of golden light cut through the flames, breaking through the dragon and snake's blockade and disappearing to the south of Uruk.

"Ha ha…"

Siduri breathed heavily in the temple.

Controlling the dragon and snake with such agility was draining her energy.

Despite forcing Kingu to retreat, the battle wasn't over yet.

Siduri poured all her remaining strength into the wand.

The dragon and snake above Uruk opened their massive mouths again, gathering a tremendous amount of magic power into a sphere one-third the size of Uruk.

With a final roar, the sphere streaked across the sky and crashed into the heart of the monstrous horde.

Boom! ! !

The roar was deafening as a blazing white light erupted, cutting through the sky. The violent explosion of magic power shattered everything in its path.

Siduri collapsed heavily to the ground, losing consciousness, while the dragon and snake vanished. The monstrous horde attacking Uruk was utterly annihilated!
