On the battlefield, Dingjier's artillery fire continued to rain down, filling the air with roars and the wails of monsters. Amidst the chaos, a silent vacuum seemed to form around the black cavalry. Over a hundred cavalrymen moved like efficient harvesters, quietly and methodically clearing out the monsters. Despite occasional losses to the siege or monster attacks, they remained stoic and focused, showing no unnecessary reactions.
"Is it really okay to leave it all to Hercules?" Ritsuka asked, eyes shifting away from the grim battle scene, concern etched on his face.
Having fought countless battles alongside numerous servants, Ritsuka had become acutely aware of the strengths, weaknesses, and countermeasures of different servants. Hercules was incredibly powerful; he had even directly defeated Ritsuka and his allies in the past. They had only managed to overcome him with a clever strategy.
But the situation with Kingu was perplexing. The extent of Kingu's strength was impossible to gauge.
"Even that great hero may not be enough against Kingu," Merlin said, shaking his head.
It would be hard to say if Hercules were in his prime and fully conscious, but in his current state, even bolstered by Ophis, Hercules was still outmatched by Kingu.
"It's curious... Hercules seems to have been enhanced by Ophis in a manner similar to the high priest before. His magical power is significantly higher than Kingu's. Yet, it doesn't seem to be enough to defeat Kingu."
The doctor added via communicator, "Enkidu's body can absorb magical power from the earth. For Kingu, maintaining a certain amount of magical power is irrelevant."
Merlin stroked his chin, acknowledging the doctor's point. Kingu had never been troubled by magical power, much like Ophis.
Ritsuka frowned. Did this mean Hercules's chances of survival were slim?
"Now isn't the time to worry about others," Merlin said, waving his hand. Another image appeared in the carriage.
Roman's expression changed. Above the cavalry, countless flying monsters had gathered, and several two-legged flying dragons swooped down as if testing their defenses.
"Oh no!" Roman exclaimed.
A swooping attack could potentially unseat the knights from their horses, and with the knights lacking ranged attack options, the situation was dire.
Ritsuka's mind raced. Was there any way to protect them other than relying on Mash's Noble Phantasm?
Despite the looming threat of an aerial assault, the knights remained calm, raising their weapons in preparation.
Ritsuka knew that while a few flying dragons posed little threat individually, a full-scale attack from the sky would result in devastating casualties.
At the critical moment, a blue light streaked across the image, striking a two-legged dragon and obliterating most of its body. The remaining fragments were consumed by blue flames.
"Mr. Arjuna?" Ritsuka's eyes lit up.
As expected, Arjuna's arrows of light appeared, accurately bringing down each wyvern. The sudden attack seemed to instill fear in the remaining flying monsters, causing them to hesitate.
But then, a series of roars echoed, each one unmistakably memorable.
Four giant dragons, each much larger than the two-legged wyverns, emerged from the monster swarm, their size intimidating enough to rival even second-rate servants. They descended from the sky, their mouths agape, flames flickering within.
Ritsuka wasn't overly concerned about the smaller dragons, but the sight of the larger ones closing in was alarming. Arjuna's arrows, even though powerful, could only do so much from such a distance.
As the giant dragons prepared to unleash their fire, Mash raised her shield with a hint of despair. The attacks from two directions seemed overwhelming.
Puff—
Just as Mash focused on protecting the carriage, a flash of three-colored light caught her eye.
One of the dragons was hit with a barrage of blood from its neck and fell to the ground, its strength waning. A slender figure landed beside Mash.
"Ms. Altera!" Mash shouted in surprise.
Altera nodded and transformed the Sword of the God of War into a long whip. She swung it, creating a wave of destruction.
Boom, boom, boom—
In moments, all the magical beasts within a 50-meter radius, including the dragon, were obliterated!
