"Mother."
In the repulsive space filled with strange, fleshy fragments, Kingu, who resembled Enkidu, bowed to the snake woman buried among the meat as she recovered.
"Damn it, damn it, damn it, what's going on? Why is it so powerful?"
The snake woman lashed out angrily with her still-recovering tail, her frustration evident.
Kingu remained calm and unfazed by his mother's anger and pressure. He found the current outcome to be expected.
The "mother" before him was no match for Ophis.
The records of this machine hadn't truly revealed Ophis's full strength. How could this mother, who couldn't even defeat her "child" Kingu, possibly defeat Ophis?
"And you! What happened? Why did it suddenly explode?"
Kingu felt helpless in the face of such questioning.
She had not anticipated that the special attacks, which relied on suppression power, would amplify her strength beyond her control. While the surge in power was within manageable limits, its sudden fragmentation by Ophis had caused an energy imbalance.
"I'm sorry. It was an accident, and it won't happen again."
Kingu was too disinterested to offer a detailed explanation to her "mother." In her current enraged state, she was unlikely to listen to reason. It was better to acknowledge the mistake and move on.
"Humph."
The snake woman snorted but chose not to press further.
The damage from Kingu's explosion had indeed forced her to retreat, but it was not the sole reason. If she had not been injured initially, the intense energy wouldn't have seriously harmed her. However, Kingu's energy had special effects that made the situation more complicated.
Despite this, the snake woman held no doubts about Kingu.
After all, Kingu was a creation of her own making.
But she was curious about the range of Kingu's special attack.
"Mother, you're severely injured now. Those old humans will likely seize this opportunity to attack. You should prepare yourself."
"Humph, just those insignificant beings…"
The snake woman's tone was dismissive, but thoughts of the powerful servants and the mysterious King of Uruk made her grit her teeth. She wasn't foolish; she knew her current physical state left her with little chance of victory.
"Mother, you could order the Warcraft Legion to launch a general attack on Uruk. They'll be too occupied to defend themselves, and with a successful assault, capturing Uruk might be feasible."
Seeing the snake woman's hesitation, Kingu offered the suggestion with a smile.
Both sides had suffered heavy losses, but Uruk's lower-level soldiers had nearly lost their morale. The key difference lay in their high-end combat capabilities. While the young witch had provided significant support, they had their own trump cards.
However, the snake woman was reluctant.
"My son, wasn't the original plan to use the Warcraft Army to counter the combined assault of the other two goddesses after conquering Uruk? The Warcraft Army isn't yet large enough to confront both goddesses simultaneously, and it would be impossible after the attack on Uruk, right?"
Kingu privately rolled her eyes. The idea that a larger scale could truly challenge the gods was naïve. Nonetheless, in a situation requiring confrontation with two gods, the strategy would be to use the monster army to hold one back while focusing on the other.
The main issue was Gorgon's weakness. Although she was powerful and held top divine status, she faced a true god of the highest caliber.
While Kingu could potentially challenge Quetzalcoatl, it wasn't ideal, and she preferred to avoid it if possible.
Despite the unforeseen attack from the "goddess," it hadn't derailed her plans.
With Ophis still present, breaching the northern wall seemed nearly impossible.
Even while avoiding direct confrontation, Ophis had enough energy to manage the battle's aftermath, ensuring it wouldn't impact Uruk significantly. The snake woman's continued survival likely indicated that she had already realized this.
However, some matters were unavoidable.
Kingu glanced at his mother with complex emotions before bowing his head.
"There's no room for negotiation now. We must use our full strength to hold back the Uruk army, even if it means delaying our attack."
"Really? Have you recovered?"
The snake woman inquired, closing her eyes.
"Yes."
Kingu nodded. As long as the core remained intact, Kingu could recover with similar efficiency to Ophis in her prime.
In fact, if not for this core, Kingu wouldn't have been able to exert such uncontrolled power.
"Then I'll leave the task of holding Uruk to you. Maintain the size of the monster army. Once I recover, I'll personally destroy Uruk!"
"Leave it to me."
Kingu bowed and left the repulsive space. A trace of hesitation crossed her face before she sighed softly.
If she stayed with her mother, the enemy would have no chance of winning. But she would do her best to hold her ground.
Until then, she would play her role as the "child" effectively.
Inside the northern wall, reports were delivered to Ophis one after another.
"With Lady Medea's Noble Phantasm, the wounded have been rescued. Excluding those who have lost their will to fight, approximately 3,000 soldiers are still able to fight on the North Wall."
"For some reason, the monsters have temporarily retreated, and the damage to the city walls has been repaired with Lady Medea's Noble Phantasm."
"Based on this attack, the technicians have submitted relevant countermeasures…"
Ophis nodded as she listened to the reports, then turned her attention to Jeanne.
"The monsters' retreat…"
Ophis considered the possibility of a large-scale attack.
Jeanne gave a wry smile, understanding the challenge Uruk faced against a full-scale monster assault. The morale of the soldiers was barely maintained, thanks to Jeanne's leadership.
"Has Arjuna fully recovered?"
Ophis inquired, looking at the white-clad archer who nodded.
"Thanks to Miss Medea."
"Hey-hey."
Medea, leaning on her wand, smiled softly.
"Altera, Jeanne?"
"We're fine. We're truly grateful to King Ophis."
Altera stayed silent, but Jeanne answered with a faint smile.
Ophis nodded and raised her palm. Purple mist began to coalesce, forming a serpent biting its tail.
"I'll rely on you all from now on... Please accept the power of my 'Snake.'"
