Chapter 60 - Chapter 60: The Abnormality of Enkidu

The opponent seemed to possess a special ability to conceal his aura, making it impossible for Altira to detect him in advance. Despite the intuition-like ability granted by the Star Emblem on her body, it was too late when she finally sensed the attacker.

Even so, Altira could feel the imminent threat through the Star Emblem. The seemingly ordinary palm blade was capable of piercing her Star Emblem and targeting her vital points.

It was too late to dodge or resist, and she was doomed.

Originally, she had been told that this summoning would bring some answers. Now, it seemed she was still too weak. Was this summoning just like the previous ones?

Destruction, destruction, and more destruction—this was the cycle that seemed to continue until death.

In this critical moment, Altira thought of the Uruk army that had always stood by her. Though their strength was modest, they had held their ground against relentless monster attacks.

Her former army had only known how to plunder and destroy, never witnessing the true willpower of people united in resistance. Despite their individual weaknesses, they had tried their best to protect their land.

At least, she wanted to give them some advantage!

Some say that when one is about to die, their thoughts stretch infinitely. Altira hadn't experienced this sensation before, but now she truly felt it.

Unable to regroup after defeating the Scorpion Man, the Sword of War in her hand was still held in its reversed position. Turning around, the sword's hilt naturally pointed directly at the attacker.

In this dire situation, Altira had no time to rely on intuition to find her opponent's weakness. She had to depend on the principles of the God of War to inflict severe damage.

Even if it meant her own death, she hoped it would cost her opponent dearly.

Light gathered at the tip of the hilt, and the palm blade descended.

The next moment, three-colored beams of light shot into the sky, accompanied by a splash of blood.

Altira gazed at the beams of light with a dazed expression. The hand that had posed a threat to her was now a broken limb, and she was pulled back from her original position by the sudden force.

A black-robed girl who had appeared kicked the attacker away with such force that the ground shook violently.

"Are you okay?"

The cold voice brought Altira back to her senses.

"Yes, thank you."

Though her response was indifferent, Altira's slightly unnatural look betrayed her calm facade.

Ophis nodded and glanced at the severed hand, her expression showing slight fluctuation.

At that moment, with a sound of earth collapsing, the girl in the white robe also stood up from the ground.

Ophis, who was extremely familiar with the girl in white, approached her with a resolute demeanor, her hesitation vanishing.

"I didn't expect you to come here personally."

Enkidu, restoring his severed arm with mud, looked at Ophis with a cold expression.

"Are all so-called 'kings' so relaxed and carefree?"

Ophis tilted her head slightly.

A mere kick shouldn't have affected Enkidu, but he seemed abnormal at this moment.

"Damn... Why are there so many issues!?"

Enkidu appeared frustrated.

"My body is acting strangely... Why... When I saw that person..."

Suppressing the strange feeling, Enkidu turned his attention to Altira.

"Woman, answer me! Why does the power of Marduk appear in your hands!?"

Altira tilted her head slightly in confusion but answered honestly.

"I... don't know any Marduk."

Enkidu's expression grew colder with this unsatisfactory response.

The woman wielding Marduk's power was a threat to the Mother, and she needed to be eliminated. Yet, seeing her up close, Enkidu's focus wavered, causing numerous errors in his calculations.

"Altira, please leave now."

Ophis spoke, taking advantage of Enkidu's momentary distraction.

Altira didn't speak but looked at Enkidu, who still remained unmoving.

"Leave Enkidu to me. You should go with Merlin."

Seeing Ophis's insistence, Altira had no choice but to comply. She looked in the direction Ophis indicated and saw Merlin, the white-robed magician, smiling and waving.

Altira remembered that Merlin was responsible for preventing interruptions to the battle, raising questions about the sudden attack. But she quickly found Merlin and left.

This won't work...

Watching Altira leave and struggling to suppress the unknown impulse rising within him, Enkidu gritted his teeth and gave up the pursuit.

No matter what, Ophis's influence was significant, and as the backbone of Uruk, her elimination would cause the city's collapse. Altira, with Marduk's power, could be dealt with later.

So... the target was locked!

"Kill you…"

Enkidu's emerald eyes focused on Ophis, his body tensing.

In the next moment, he vanished in a blur.

"You are just Enkidu. Such arrogance."

Ophis didn't follow Enkidu's movements, recognizing them as a mere distraction. She casually covered her ears as Enkidu's kick landed as anticipated.

Bang!!!

The strong wind pressure crushed the earth, but Ophis remained unharmed.

"Enkidu cannot defeat me. I am undefeated."

The attack had no effect, but Enkidu wasn't surprised. He leaped into the air, waving his long sleeves, and several weapons shot out, creating a violent magical explosion that engulfed Ophis.

Unfazed, Ophis used her magic to clear the explosion's thick fog and saw a golden spear hurtling toward her. The spear carried a high-level concept of "dragon slaying," and its target... was Ophis's own head!

Enkidu, crafted as a god-made weapon, excelled in weaponry.

"But if it's Enkidu... I can be a little more serious."

Ophis remained calm as the spear approached. A gentle smile appeared on her lips as she addressed Enkidu.

The next moment, the spear fell.
