The group were bruised and battered, they had narrowly escaped an entrapment, the fountain in the city had became a battlefield, thankfully, their commander was quite reliable.
The towering ruins of the city loomed overhead, their jagged silhouettes blending into the endless darkness. Every building that still stood was a hollow shell, its once-proud structure now reduced to crumbling facades and broken windows that gaped like empty eyes.
Streets that had once been bustling were now cluttered with debris and ash, twisted metal and remnants of a forgotten time. Every corner was a potential death trap, every shadow a reminder of the things that lurked in the dark.
The city itself felt like it was decaying, its remains slowly succumbing to the creeping void that surrounded it.
