"We have to keep moving," Riley said, pulling Eleanor along as they ran through the empty streets. The village felt alien now, a place he no longer recognized.
He didn't want to look back, didn't want to dwell on what had just happened. All he could focus on was getting out—away from the village, away from the horrors lurking in the shadows.
"Where do we go?" Eleanor asked breathlessly, her face pale, her brows knitted in concern.
"Anywhere but here," Riley replied, determination fueling his steps. "We can figure it out once we're safe."
They sprinted toward the edge of the village, the weight of fear propelling them forward. The world outside awaited, a vast unknown that felt more welcoming than the darkness they were leaving behind.
