Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Kalyani entered the room, her heart heavy. Kalina was awake, lying on the bed, her eyes filled with a mix of fear and exhaustion. Onju and Soyeon stood nearby, watching intently.

"Hey, how are you feeling now?" Kalyani asked, her voice gentle.

Kalina nodded weakly. "I feel better now."

"What's your name?" Kalyani asked, hoping to break through the wall of silence.

"My name is Kalina," the woman replied, her voice barely a whisper.

Kalyani nodded slightly. "I'm Doctor Kalyani. So can you tell me exactly what happened? Okay, I'm not hurting you. No one will. Just tell me what happened between you and the soldier."

Kalina hesitated, her eyes filled with fear. "Please promise me nothing will happen to him. Nothing will happen to Kim," she pleaded.

Kalyani's heart sank. "Kim? Seojoon? The leading officer in the war?" she asked, her voice filled with disbelief.

Kalina nodded, her eyes wide with terror. "Nothing will happen to him, right?" she repeated.

Kalyani took a deep breath. "Nothing will happen to him, okay. Tell me. What was the relationship between you both? Did he capture you? Tell me."

Kalina sat up, her eyes filled with a strange mixture of fear and longing. "No, he didn't. He helped me. He took care of me. He loved me. And I gave him my virginity out of love."

Kalyani's heart pounded in her chest. "Are you sure? Did he force you? Did he hurt you? Touch you inappropriately?"

Kalina shook her head, her eyes filled with a distant look. Her mind drifted back to the night she had surrendered herself to Kim Seojoon. He had pinned her to the bed, his movements rough and demanding. Her body had trembled violently, her breath coming in ragged gasps. But as he had thrust harder and faster, she had felt a strange sensation, a tingling pleasure that had coursed through her body. She had hissed in pleasure, arching off the bed, her eyes closed. The pleasure had been intense, overwhelming.

Kalyani snapped her fingers in front of Kalina, jolting her back to reality. "Are you okay?" she asked, her voice filled with concern. "Kalina, please don't hide anything from us. Okay? Tell us every single thing so we can help you."

Kalina nodded, her voice trembling. "We made love multiple times every day. I always initiated it. He was always very scared to touch me. That night, he left to the borders for some work. His commander called him. And..." Kalina stammered, her hands shaking violently.

Kalyani reached out and took Kalina's hand. "Calm down, okay?" she said, her voice soothing. "Onju, get me the antibiotics. She's having panic attacks."

Onju rushed to get the antibiotics, while Kalyani injected Kalina. The woman's eyes closed, and she drifted off to sleep.

As Kalyani watched Kalina sleep, her mind raced. What had happened between Kalina and Kim Seojoon? Was it truly love, or something else entirely? And what had caused the sudden change in their relationship?

Kalyani knew she had to find the answers. For Kalina's sake, and for the sake of understanding the complexities of human behavior in times of war.

Kalyani returned to Mahima's office, her face etched with worry. Mahima was hunched over her laptop, her fingers flying across the keyboard.

"What have you found concerning Kalina?" Kalyani asked, her voice barely a whisper.

Mahima closed her laptop, her expression one of defeat. "Nothing really. It's just so hard. Kalina and Kim Seojoon love each other so much. So he isn't the one who hurt her."

Kalyani's heart ached for Kalina. "But who then?" she asked, her voice filled with confusion.

Mahima shook her head. "I don't know. It's a mystery."

"It's okay," Kalyani said, reaching out to comfort her friend. "We should go home now. Kalina is asleep. We have meetings with the board and the president tomorrow."

Mahima stood up, arranging her bag. "We shall go to Asian market to get something to eat," she suggested.

Kalyani nodded, carrying her own bag. As they left the hospital, the weight of the world seemed to lift slightly. They were tired, but they were together. And together, they would find a way to solve this mystery.
