Violet was laying in her bed reading a book before dinner when she hears a knock on her door.
"Come in." She responded not looking away from her book.
"Hello little mouse, it's been awhile."
Violet's heart dropped and her entire body tensed up at the sound of his voice.
It was Riley.
"So shy now? Why is that?" Riley's words slithered from his mouth like venom as it
punctured Violet's ears.
She couldn't respond with words, her fear had paralyzed her. Beads of sweat appeared on her forehead and her palms got clammy. She could hear the sound of her heart beating rapidly in fear.
Violet wanted to run but she couldn't make herself move.
"That's okay little mouse, you don't have to speak."
No. No. No. not again.
Riley approaches the bed and grabs Violet by the ankle and drags her to the side of the bed. She lets out a scream, but Riley was quick and climbed on top of her covering her mouth.
