The howling of the wind could be hear from afar, the window's and structure rattled due to the force, rain battering against the glass blurring the outside world. The sound of the rain was relentless echoing throughout the small cabin, each drop a tiny hammer, a constant reminder of the storm outside. The inside of the cabin illuminated by the flickering candlelight and fire, the light reflecting off the window creating a light haze. Modern technology littered around such as the metallic food synthesiser and holographic display yet it was perfectly nestled between the rustic furniture. Rose was sat on an arm chair infront of the fire, the heat emanating, keeping her warm. Recalling the past half hour was very interesting for Rose, first she woke up on her bed presuming Mr Collins had to leave, so she checked her pocket's and found the device she was told about, however before checking there was a loud bang at the front door. Getting off her bed she walked to the front door wondering who was here at this time and who would know the location. Reaching the door she opened it slowly, peering down she saw a man battered by the storm. Immediately noticing he went into unconsciousness she reaching down and dragged him inside, god he was in a poor state. Shutting the door she lifted him up and placed him onto the couch by the fire. Rushing to grab a medical kit, blanket and spare clothes she place's the blanket under him, taking his clothes off, tending to his wound's and putting the clean clothes on him. Then just in case she decided to hide her artwork she has been doing.
Looking over at the man that i've helped i do feel sorry for him, his body is cut all over and thankfully it was protected mostly by his clothes however, his face is politely fucked up. His family probably won't even recognise him, this is why i wish technology in The Alteration Hub could be public so it can be used for medical purposes. It would change the world, but of course the government wouldn't help, they would line up the execution block for those who suggested it. Standing up from my armchair i look at the man, there is no chance of him waking, i gave him tablet's to increase the healing process but make's the person sleep, it should last hour's. In the mean time i will prepare a small art station to paint before he wake's. I grab the brush and empty my mind thinking of what i want to paint. My hand moved with slow grace, tracing the canvas exposing a line of vibrant colour, stark contrast of the sterile canvas transforming as i continue, stroke after stroke. Hour's pass until it is finally complete, sitting back in the chair, sighing to myself. The painting is one of the cabin, a few from the side wall including the fire, couch including the man and the armchair where i attempted to paint myself however it doesn't look the best. Anyway, i cannot think what i will call it so i will just put the painting where i hid all the other's and put away the art station item's. Walking back over to the fire i make sure it will burn out safely yet still produce enough heat to last the night. The storm is still raging outside and the window's are nearly fully opaque due to the battering of the rain. Looking back over at the man i put the blanket further up him to ensure he is warm, then i head to my bedroom to get ready for an early night whilst setting my alarm for 6am. Finishing getting ready i get in bed, somewhat exited about helping the man, but right now sleep is more important. But it will be quite difficult to sleep with the storm raging outside however, i need to try.
The sound of an alarm echoes throughout the bedroom, just loud enough for Rose to wake up to, turning over she slam's her hand down turning the alarm off. Sitting up against the head board she zone's out for a while recalling yesterday. One thing she notice's is the noise of the storm, still going on, as potent as ever. Getting out of bed she head's to the lounge feeling the cold wood on her feet and the colder room of the lounge as she enter's it. Moving toward's the couch she peer's over the top to notice the man has healed, a bit. Not enough to recognise him, she fear's it may have some permanent damage without the proper medical care, and with the storm outside and poor communication there seem's to be little chance. Moving by the couch she slouches down infront of the fire and begin's to clear the ash to the ash tray to dispose of it. A few minute's go by until she has fully cleaned the log burner and then she begin's to re-make the kindling and log formation to effectively light the fire. Yet a murmur distract's her, immediately turning around she observes the man on the couch, he seem't to be moving slightly, his breath seeming more prominent, it won't be long before he wake's. Planning to get the fire complete and breakfast made she quickly light's the fire and head's to make the breakfast occasional checking up on the fire to make sure it is burning correctly. A simple breakfast is all Rose will make, enough to sustain someone to lunch time and not need a snack. Waiting for the food synthesiser to finish completing both breakfast's she set's the table as another murmur come's from the man. Hurrying up again she check's back on the food synthesiser, a few minute's left. A groan, Rose rushes to the couch side kneeling down. More body movement, he seem's to be waking as Rose's breath quicken's. The man sit's up sharply gasping for air as Rose immediately stand's holding him up, "Are you ok? Do you need anything?" Rose voices rushing her sentence. The man seemingly recovered from the sudden wake turn's to her murmuring back "Water, please." Hearing his answer Rose rushes to grab a glass of water, bringing it back he take's multiple gulp's nearly finishing glass. "Thank you" he say's, leaning into the couch side. "Where am i? and how did i get here?" A simple question but Rose's breathing halt's stuttering back. "You are in my cabin, as to how you got here, you fell down into my door and i helped you in" The man in thought widens his eye's slightly in somewhat surprise. Before he replies a alarm goes off from the food synthesiser. Rose turning around state's, "Let's talk at the dinner table over breakfast, i made you a plate as well" A command, Whilst Rose goes to get the plate's and bring them to the table the man stand's, looking down he observes the room then taking it all in, noticing how the window's are fully blurred presuming it is from what sound's like quite a potent storm. Making his way to the table he feel's the cold wooden floor against his feet prompting him to look down as he gasp's wondering were his clothes are. "I knew you would question that, come sit and i will explain" Rose voices from the dinner table, making his way he sit's opposite her where the plate is and he take's his seat. An awkward silence as Rose gesture's for him to begin as she start's her explanation. "All of sudden i heard a bang, so i get up from bed and head to the door, opening it i find you, collapsing, cut, bruised and overall damaged by the storm. I get you inside and onto the couch where i stripped your clothes, basically non existent, Tended to your wound's, then put some of my larger clothes on you to help keep you warm, then i put the blanket over you, and gave you healing tablet's" The man, stopped eating, looking up, seemingly into nothing. His eye's seem like a pool of emptiness, "Oh, thank you, for saving me, except i cannot remember anything, it is like my mind is a blur" He replied as Rose nod's in appreciation yet narrow's her eye's in concern. Continuing to eat Rose question's "Would it be ok for me to check your head for any major external damage, i would like to see if you have a concussion?" Getting a nod in reply she stand's up and walk's up behind him. The man sit's up straight and stay's still as Rose trace's her finger's to look for any major injury, the side of his head, a large deep bruise. Thinking to herself that it can only mean one thing. "I am sorry but i think you have a concussion, i cannot confirm it without the proper equipment however, it is a calculated guess" She is greeted with silence, understandable. A minute passes until he replies "Thank you for looking, if it is okay i would like to go check up on my body myself and shower?" Rose move's back to her side whilst grabbing the plate's to clean them and replies "Of course, it is down the hall, you can't miss it, there is a spare towel in the top cabinet". Walking past Rose the man thanks her quietly.
I finish cleaning the plate's and put them away, taking my seat back on my arm chair i stare into the fire. The storm doesn't seem like it will stop for maybe a day or so. Her mind drift's to the man, he said that he cannot remember anything, but a concussion cannot do all of that, his entire life just gone into a blur which he cannot understand. I lean back as time passes as i continue thinking, that's it. My epiphany. He hasn't had his pill this morning. Oh no, he will experience so much in so little. Emotion's will run through him, he won't even know what they are, he has so much to learn. Minute's pass as i ramble until i hear footstep's, turning back round i see the man dressed up, he look's a lot better. Smiling at me he voices "We forgot introduction's, sadly i cannot remember my name, but can you tell me yours?" Smiling to myself i can see emotion in his eye's, my eye's tear up. "My name is Rose Orion, lovely to meet you"
