Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Battle Simulation.

Feeling Franz's gaze, Nepheli glanced at him out of the corner of her eye, Franz had a silly smile from ear to ear, feeling a nerve throbbing from his face, he said to Franz.

- Don't even think I'm going to congratulate you –

- Excuse me, did you say anything, did you need advice from your elder? Junior–

Franz wanted to continue showing off to Nepheli, but she hit him on the shoulder causing a great pain to run down his shoulder.

- Ouch, well, well, I'll shut up, God, why do you always hit me like I owe you money? –

- Because sometimes I feel like you do – Nepheli said with a big smile on her face as she left Franz behind.

Shaking his head, Franz caught up with Nepheli, they were currently heading towards the magician's arcade, as Franz explained to Nepheli, although they could continue to train together, the truth is that the improvement of the two was slow, at this point there wasn't much to learn from each other.

Both Franz and Nepheli realized that if they wanted to keep improving, the only way to do it right now was to practice against other people.

Also, as Franz explained, the two of them unconsciously restrained themselves so as not to end up hurting each other during training, the potions that Pom Pom could produce in a week were limited so they had to be careful when training, but, fortunately with Hans on the road, the potions could last a little longer in Franz's hands.

That is why the simulation room was a good option to train, not only could they fight without holding back, they could also fight with people from other cities, so that would help them adapt to different styles of fighting.

- Hey Franz, but why do only some people use the simulation rooms? Isn't it strange that something so convenient is not so used? –

- That's because I've heard that the pairings are not balanced, the room only relies on the degree of people to match them with other people and I heard that the third degree is the most the simulation room can support at the moment –

Nepheli nodded in understanding, He had heard that the mana of people in the fourth grade was so strong that it could interfere with the technology making it obsolete, which was why they should always keep their mana flow stable and prevent it from leaving their body.

Of course, there were methods made by the alchemists to avoid these things, but they were expensive, stupidly expensive, however, to a certain extent it was worth it, because in case of emergency where their help was required, a single move of their would render the communications and energy sources of much of the city obsolete.

It was also for this reason that wizards and alchemists were the greatest power of the government, you have to see Hans, who even with the interference of a fifth-degree aberration managed to make a simple car run smoothly through the city.

- We arrived - Franz said.

Looking at the magician's playroom, it was a large three-story building, the building had a youthful air in a certain way and there were banners, posters and so on all over the building.

Inside it wasn't much different, except that the building seemed to be divided into rooms, most likely inside are the simulation rooms.

The place also had a canteen where you could buy food and drinks, and there were also rest rooms in the building.

- This looks more like a video game hub, don't you think? Nepheli said, though it seemed to him that he lived up to his name quite well.

Franz nodded, most likely the building or the company in charge of the simulation rooms had taken a more youth-oriented stance who tended to be more competitive than older people.

Turning towards a tall man behind a counter, Franz said.

- Dude, I would like to rent a simulation room -

The man who was arranging some things, answered without turning to look at them.

- A grade two room costs 2,000 credits for an hour, if you are going to enter accompanied by the girl, it would be 2,800 for an hour –

Very expensive! Franz and Nepheli thought, perhaps this was also a reason why people did not use simulation rooms as much and preferred to train outdoors, since not everyone could afford that price if the costs of all the materials, tools and resources for the practice of mana were taken into account.

In the end Franz paid for 3 hours, the man assigned them a room for the two of them, when they entered, in reality the room was completely empty, the only striking thing about it were several seals and circuits that traveled throughout the room giving it an ancient and mystical air in the process, even though the two had done their homework by researching the place, they could not help but be surprised.

Upon entering, a holographic screen appeared in the middle of the room as well as a pleasant voice that gave airs of being a commentator.

- Welcome dear guests, what do you need today? We offer many fighting modes, individual, team, vs beasts, choose when you want and what you want!, ah what a bad slogan! –

Neither of them could help but laugh at the comments of the voice, however, after the excitement had passed, the two were navigating the different options that the room offered, in the end the two ended up deciding on a team mode where only beast tamers could participate, Franz and Nepheli wanted to test how capable they were compared to other tamers of the same grade.

Once the two chose the simulation mode, the scribbles and stamps in the room began to move frantically throughout the room, while the two of them wondered what was going on, the room was left in complete darkness for a few seconds.

Surprisingly, the two of them were now in a large forest, the view was quite beautiful to say the least, the two never believed that they could witness such a beautiful landscape and although they knew it was not real, the landscape was so well built that it made them believe otherwise.

- Very good ladies and gentlemen!, in this competition 100 tamers participate divided into teams of two, those who manage to eliminate the last tamer and manage to remain standing, will be considered winners! –

After the voice stopped talking, neither of them got going, instead they began to investigate the surroundings.

- It's like we've been teleported somewhere else, great! – Nepheli said who immediately tried to summon Shadow and to his surprise it worked.

Franz also did the same with Pom Pom, who looked quite excited to be able to get out, this time neither of them was afraid of breaking the law by summoning their beasts, because the simulation room had special permissions for this kind of thing as well as the training camps, only this time things were a little different since the beast was summoned inside a special space and not in reality where they could hurt someone.

With all that cleared up, the duo climbed on shadow who nimbly began to run through the trees as if he were a shadow, hiding and camouflaging himself among the trees that served as cover for a beast like the tree jaguar and thanks to the fact that he had managed to get his camouflage skill to rise to a category skill, His body had adopted the colors of the surroundings, leaving aside his characteristic black color that was now nowhere to be seen and helping to make him difficult to detect thanks to the environment.

Nepheli was in charge of directing shadow, while Franz along with Pom Pom, were in charge of monitoring the surroundings in search of other beast tamers.

It didn't take long for them to come across another team, analyzing them a bit, the opposing team was made up of two men, about their age, by a bear from the cave, a bronze beast in the second degree and a spider ape, an iron beast in the second grade as well.

While Franz and Nepheli were on their guard, the other team had already finished analyzing them and made the first move, but not before giving each other a warning.

- Be careful, there's only one beast in sight! –

Franz and shadow had also started to move towards the tamers, in fact, the opposing team thought they were looking bad at seeing Franz attack next to shadow, however, neither of them thought much about it and attacked first.

But they were surprised to see how Franz was able to dodge the spider ape's attacks with great ease and respond to the attacks back.

Shadow wasn't having a bad time either, his strength was enough to compete against the cave bear without much difficulty and thanks to the fact that he was training all month, his impulsiveness was gone and he was now able to analyze the fight, gaining ground against the cave bear in the process despite being a lower rank.

Seeing that his mate was being defeated, the spider ape escaped the fight against Franz and ran towards his partner, however, Franz who expected him to do that screamed.

- Pom Pom now! – With Franz's scream, several mana projectiles were fired at the spider ape knocking him out, his tamer seeing that summoned him back to his soul space and just as he was about to summon another beast, he could hear the scream of his partner, getting a fright out of him when he saw a girl holding her partner tightly with a wrestling hold.

- Franz, I got it! – Nepheli shouted.

Franz looked at the spider ape tamer and when he saw that he was looking in his direction he sighed and said – Well, we give up, man friend, what kind of crazy are you? Fighting as if they were combatants and not tamers, it's our bad luck, I guess –

After that the two men exchanged a few words with Franz and Nepheli, expressing their admiration, after talking a little and knowing that they lived in the same city, Franz did not hesitate and invited them to take a tour of the Chimera association if they had a monster to train.

The two accepted the invitation and left the simulation after that, then Nepheli began to speak.

- Man, that was fun! Franz let's keep kicking ass! Nepheli said as she began to run in a random direction, Shadow and Pom Pom began to chase her and Franz followed shortly after while laughing.

Neither of them noticed a man watching them from afar.

- Interesting, so if it was you after all? Damn murderer - said the man with a sarcastic voice filled with an anger that was hard not to discern.
