Morgan noticed the thoughtful look on Kaelen's face and tilted his head. He asked:
"Is something wrong?"
Kaelen snapped back to the present, quickly pushing his thoughts aside.
"No, it's... nothing."
He waved off the question. But then he paused, glancing down at the hefty pouch of gold coins in his hand. Genuinely curious, he asked Morgan:
"What's this for, anyway?"
Morgan chuckled, his tone turning appreciative.
"Consider it a thank you. You saved Lisa's life back in the forest. If it weren't for you, we wouldn't have made it here."
He extended his hand, insisting Kaelen to take the fee.
"So, please—take it. You've more than earned it."
Kaelen hesitated for a moment, but then he couldn't help the small grin that tugged at the corners of his lips.
