Kaelen's muscles were strained as he awkwardly swung wildly from tree to tree with the weight of his chained blades that were both a blessing and a curse in this deadly game of cat and mouse. His breath came in ragged gasps, and his heart pounded so loudly in his ears it almost drowned out the beast's roar from above. He quickly glanced to his side, searching for Kali in the chaos.
There she was with her dark form cutting through the air with impressive grace. The crow darted through the forest with ease, slipping between branches and dodging attacks with a natural instinct that made Kaelen slightly envious. If only he had wings, too.
"...Lucky... bird"
He muttered under his breath, though there was no time to dwell on jealousy. Kali had her own obstacles to avoid, and the way she weaved through the air showed she was struggling just as much as he was. But at least she wasn't being targeted by the creature.
