Kaelen sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the wooden floorboards beneath him. It was the same room where he'd rested after his injuries from yesterday, a simple but comfortable space filled with the soft scent of herbs and aged wood. Galandor had told him to rest for the day, but his mind refused to follow the order. Too much had happened.
His thoughts were racing about; the forest, the history of the veil and the gods that created them... and now, this Dissonance that the old elf mentioned.
It was all too much to take in. The mission had started out simple enough—a venture for discovery, an attempt to find some breakthrough that'll benefit their kingdom. But this? This was not how he'd imagined things would go.
"A breakthrough... huh? Maybe the history of the Veil counts..."
