Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The Weight of Choices

The next morning, Bobby took every necessary precaution for himself, his family, and his party. Aware that Tala could be listening at any moment, he decided to consult someone he trusted, someone who had supported him throughout his seven years of presidency. This mysterious figure, known as "Lune," was infamous for operating in the shadows, eliminating enemies under the cover of night.

In a discreet location, Bobby explained the situation to Lune and requested that Tala be eliminated within three days. Lune accepted the mission without hesitation, a response that visibly relieved Bobby.

Meanwhile, Lysandre Morrow had arranged to meet Abah in a secure location where Tala couldn't eavesdrop. She had conducted thorough research on Tala and feared for her own safety, as well as Abah's.

"Why did you ask me here?" Abah asked, intrigued.

Lysandre replied, her concern evident: "I'm afraid for Talia, for myself, and for you."

With a touch of empathy, Abah responded, "I understand your fears. We have something others don't—a knowledge of Tala that no one else possesses. Remember, we've managed to bring him down once before."

Lysandre interrupted, "Back then, we were united. Now we're divided, and Tala is just as arrogant and dominant as ever."

Abah responded confidently, "We can stop him. This is our final act."

Looking confused, Lysandre added, "What 'we'? I came here to warn you. The Abah I knew, cool and sociable, is gone. The only one standing up to Tala now is Stelio. Goodbye."

Abah called out to Lysandre several times as she walked away, but she didn't turn back. He was left with a bitter and confused feeling, reflecting on the past to understand what had changed. He recalled their high school days when he and Lysandre had successfully outmaneuvered Tala. Back then, Tala had been rigid, heartless, and unrepentant. Instead of facing the consequences of his actions, he was saved and excused, and Abah wondered if he had truly been a hero, having allowed Tala to continue.

Consumed by these thoughts, Abah headed to his car, his mind troubled with questions about how Stelio had managed to stand up to Tala. Determined, he embarked on a quest for answers.
