"A shaman? You want me to meet a shaman?"

Yohan blinked in surprise, still processing Jed's unexpected suggestion. He had to admit, he wasn't expecting Jed to suggest consulting a mystical figure like a shaman - given Jed's generally eccentric and unconcerned demeanor when it came to the supernatural or divination.

Coming from anyone else, he might have dismissed it outright - but this was Jed making the recommendation. The same Jed who always seemed more interested in his sunflower seeds or stolen youtiao than any mystical mumbo-jumbo.

Jed nodded casually as he cracked open some sunflower seeds from the table and popped them into his mouth one by one.

"That's right, shaman. The Xu family - especially old man Xu himself - is quite fond of visiting shamans for guidance," Jed explained between crunches. "That's how my own Wang family got involved with all this too."
