Chapter 36 - PLEA

***

Sung-hoon sat on the bed holding his face in his hands he breathed out. He run his hand through his buzz cut before throwing himself back on the bed. He closed his eyes and tried calming his racing heart.

Everything had escalated so fast he didn't even have time to think all he knew was he had to get away. He had gone through a lot in his life and he had promised himself not to let himself get in that position again.

His decision to move out was long overdue. He was only supposed to stay for some days a week at most but he had stayed there for four months now. He had slept with Jae-wook two times already which only made his head ache.

If he had seen him self in this situation three years ago he would have slapped himself for being so irresponsible. He needed to focus. Everything he ever wished for was within his grasp how could he just ruin it over some feelings.

He was better than this. He couldn't catch feelings especially not for Jae-wook. Moving out was the best decision.

He stood up and paced around the room. He had texted Maerin earlier to fasten the search for an apartment but she still hadn't responded. He dismissed it to her attending to her daughter or something important at work.

He bit his lip as he sat back down on the bed.

Maybe the reason his body had succumbed to such desires was because he hadn't done so in a long time and his body had pent up tension. He took off his shirt and headed towards the shower.

He needed to cool off.

He took a cold shower. As the water dropped down his body he felt the tension slowly decrease but he could still feel his tightened heart.

After sometime he got out of the shower he got dressed and took his script ready to read. Just as he sat on his desk he heard a soft knock on his door.

He stared at the door knowing exactly who was on the other side.

"Sung-hoon please can we talk." Jae-wook called out softly. His voice filled with so much sorrow as he leaned against the door. His hands in fists.

After Sung-hoon had informed him about his decision to leave he had been overcome with so much emotion he stood at the base of the stairs motionless.

How could he say anything when he was in the wrong?

How could he convince him otherwise?

Ever since Sung-hoon entered his life although he didn't want to admit it. He had made a significant impact on his life. This house that was once so cold and bare was filled with warmth.

Sung-hoon had tried decorating it with flowers and warm fuzzy dolls. It actually looked like someone stayed there. Previously this was like a suffocating prison reminding him of his place in this world, but he had changed that. He actually looked forward to coming there.

Despite his busy schedule he made sure to drop by as much as he could but now the person who made him so comfortable was about to leave.

He had stood by the door for so long he had fallen to his knees on the floor.

"Please." He called out once again.

Sung-hoon let out a sigh. He had thought he would have left by then. It had already been two hours.

Finally giving up he closed the script and walked towards the door.

He opened the door to find Jae-wook kneeling in front of the door which caught him offguard.

Jae-wook looked up at him his heart racing.

"Jae-wook....."

"Please don't leave." Jae-wook pleaded cutting Sung-hoon off. "If I make you uncomfortable I will leave ."

" it's your house I can't ask you that." Sung-hoon tried to reason with him.

"It's just an empty shell." Jae-wook countered his voice low as he looked down.

"Get up." Sung-hoon said as he leaned againt the wall while folding his arms on his chest.

"Bu..."

"Get up! It looks weird like that." Sung-hoon said with a huff.

Jae-wook quickly stood up he could feel his feet get a bit wobbly but he ignored it. He now had a chance he wasn't going to waste it.

"I only came here to spend a few days nothing else. Clearly our agreement wasn't a good one."

"I am sorry. I didn't mean to treat you like that. "

"I let myself get vulnerable. All the more reason why I should leave. My career is just starting Jae-wook I can't let whatever is going on between us to interfere with it."

"I can keep my distance I am already busy as it is you don't have to leave."

"Why are you adamant about me staying?" He asked. "Aside from us having sex are we friends?" Sung-hoon asked his voice a bit colder than he anticipated.

Silence followed.

"I don't know why you always show up when I am having a problem but I don't think our relationship is tangible enough for you to give this suggestion. If it's the sex I am sorry but that was nothing. "

Jae-wook looked up at him as soon as he said those words. His heart hurt hearing those words from his mouth. His mind traced back to when they were in England he said he liked him so why did he say such cold words.

"You don't believe that." Jae-wook stated looking directly into Sung-hoon's eyes.

Sung-hoon could only hold eye contact for a few seconds before he looked away.

"What do you want us to do then?"

"Let's terminate the agreement." Jae-wook suddenly said. Sung-hoon looked up at him puzzled. He had thought of doing it himself but he didn't think he would suggest it himself.

"What?"

"When I invited you to England I thought maybe we could start getting to know each other better but clearly the opposite happened so let's start over."

Sung-hoon looked at him like he was mad.

"Is this a ploy to have me stay here?"

"Yes. I want to get to know you better."

Sung-hoon felt his heart racing his mind was screaming his palms were sweaty. He didn't know what to make of this situation.

Jae-wook stretched out his hand for a handshake. Sung-hoon looked at his hand thinking and contemplating before he finally although reluctantly shook his hand.

"To become friends we don't have to stay in the same house. " Sunghoon said Jae-wook only smiled as he held his hands behind his back.

"England was a very interesting trip though. If you stay here for six more months I will tell you what happened there. If by that time you chose to leave I will not hold you back."

" what do you mean?" Sung-hoon asked. He thought he told him nothing happened in England? Why was he suddenly saying there was.

"Very juicy stuff. You can ask Mr Kim but he wasn't there." He said with a cheeks smile as he opened his bedroom door and walked in before closing the door behind him. Sung-hoon watched him until he was all alone in the hallway.

How did everything take such a drastic turn?

And what exactly did he do in England?

"Jae-wook open the door." He said as he walked towards the door and tried to open it only to find it locked.

"Goodnight. " He heard Jae-wook say from inside.

Sung-hoon fisted his hands and raised it to hit the door but resisted as he walked back to his room.

***

The next day the smell of eggs and bacon wafted through the house.

Sung-hoons stomach growled as he turned on the bed and threw the cover over himself.

He finally sat up with a grunt before getting out of bed and walking down the stairs.

"You are awake. I thought I would make us breakfast." Jae-wook said as he placed a plate on the dining table mats.

"Seat." Jae-wook said as he took a jag of freshly made juice and placed ut on the table.

" the past week you had been going to the gym early in the morning I thought it would be the case." Sung-hoon looked at him confused before hesitantly walking towards the table.

He sat down just as Jae-wook took his own place on the opposite side.

He watched as Sung-hoon took the first bite his eyes watching him intently.

"How is it."

"Good." Sung-hoon said as he placed his spoon down and took the glass of juice Jae-wook had poured before he sat down he slowly drunk it but he could still feel Jae-wook's eyes on him.

"Good." He said nodding. It was his favourite juice and jae-wook made it perfectly. He didn't know how he knew maybe it was the large juice jars of the same flavour, passion that dominated the refrigerator everytime he went grocery shopping that gave him away.

He wasn't used to this kind of treatment from anyone.

" do you have a schedule I can drop you off."

"No need. Alice is coming to pick me up." He said cutting another slice of bacon.

"So you do have one. Mind sharing."

Sung-hoon placed the fork down and looked up at Jae-wook.

"I yet that you are trying but can you please just be yourself. "

"But...."

"You are trying to hard I would like to know the side that I see everytime."

Jae-wook let out a sigh of relief as he fell back on his chair.

" damnnn I didn't know how long I was going to hold out for. " He removed the apron he still had on and placed it on the chair beside him.

"I can't imagine waking up with this much energy every day."

"I do." Sung-hoon said taking a bite of his food.

"Well it must be exhausting."

Sung-hoon let out a laugh before taking the jag of juice and pouring some for Jae-wook. He had been so focused on Sung-hoon he had forgotten to pour himself some.

"Thanks." Jae-wook said as he got comfortable.

"But it was a good attempt though tell se-hee it worked."

"You knew."

"Who else would give you advice?"

"I have friends." Jae-wook said looking away as he fiddled with his food.

"I know. " He said as he got back to his food.

" I was thinking of taking a week off next week are you free?" He asked.

"Are you planning on going somewhere?"

"Actually it's a tradition I do with se-hee around this time of the month and I thought you would want to join."

"I don't want to impose."

"You won't. I am sure she would be more than happy to have you join."

"If that's the case sure why not."

They finally finished their meal. Sung-hoon helped clean up before they went to their rooms to get ready.

This was a new beginning.

The beginning to something even more magical.
