Shattered Dimensions: Duelist Showdown -Yu Gi Oh

The sky was an inky abyss, streaked with the faintest glimmers of distant stars. Amidst the smoldering ruins of the Brotherhood's homebase, Fade darted through the wreckage with a fervor born of desperation. Each leap and bound was driven by a singular hope: that he might still salvage something from the night's chaos, that he might make a difference before it was too late.

He landed softly in a haystack near the base of a crumbling tower, his breath coming in ragged, desperate gasps. The acrid stench of smoke filled the night air, mingling with the distant, haunting echoes of the conflict he had left behind. The tower loomed above him, a skeletal remnant of the stronghold that had once stood as a bastion of their cause. His eyes darted around as he raced up the stairs, driven by the faintest hope that he might still be in time to make a difference.

As he reached the top of the tower, he was met with a sight that stopped him dead in his tracks. Genji, his best and closest friend lay sprawled on the ground, his once-proud figure now lifeless. The duel disk that had been his weapon and his symbol was now shattered beside him. The flickering lights of the city below cast long shadows over the scene, highlighting the harsh reality of the outcome.

Fade's knees buckled as he knelt beside Genji's body. His friend, his closest ally, was gone. Fade's fingers trembled as he reached out.

"No… Genji," Fade whispered, tears streaming down his face. "I'm so sorry. I should have been here sooner."

The sound of approaching footsteps broke Fade's reverie. Kaito, his mentor, appeared at the top of the ruined tower, his face a mask of anger and betrayal. "You've made your choice, Fade," he said coldly. "And now you face the consequences."

Fade's eyes, still glistening with tears, locked onto Kaito. "This isn't what I wanted. I didn't want any of this."

Kaito's gaze hardened as he drew his Duel Disk, its sleek design a stark contrast to the devastation around them. "You've betrayed everything we built. You'll pay for your treachery." Fade with sheer anger in his heart looked back and drew his hood over his eyes, igniting his duel disk and responded "stay thy blade from the flesh of the innocent, if that means nothing then we are no longer brothers"

Fade: 8000 Kaito: 8000

As both duelists draw their cards, Fade points to Kaito in a gesture of giving him the first turn. "You've made a grave mistake with that, so I'm going to start off by activating "Galaxy Hundred" and sending my Photon Jumper to the graveyard" Kaito muttered as he plays his card, then sends Photon Jumper (0 ATK / 0 DEF) from his deck to the graveyard. "With my Photon Jumper being sent to my graveyard, I am allowed to add one galaxy spell from my deck to my hand, I'll ad-" "I don't think so. Fade retorts before Kaito could search his deck, discarding a card in his hand to prevent the search. "I activate Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring! This card negates your search!" Kaito, surprised, looked at this card and narrowed his eyes "Oh, so it was them who 'tricked' you" Fade snorted "Nobody tricked me other than you. I was a fool to believe in you so naively."

"Very well then. This is the path that you chose. I then summon Galaxy Summoner (1600 ATK / 1400 DEF) and use its effect to bring back Photon Jumper (0 ATK / 0 DEF) from the graveyard. Now, I overlay Galaxy Summoner and Photon Jumper to build the Overlay Network!" 

The Overlay Network opens, a swirling, luminous portal appearing above the field. The two monsters combine into a brilliant beam of starlight, shooting into the vortex as Kaito's voice echoes with commanding authority. Kaito "From the depths of the galaxy and the heart of starlight, I summon forth the brilliant dragon of the cosmos! XYZ Summon— Rank 4, Galaxy Photon Dragon!" Galaxy Photon Dragon (2000 ATK / 0 DEF) emerges from the portal in a spectacular burst of light. The dragon, with its shimmering scales and radiant wings, descends onto the field with an awe-inspiring roar, its presence commanding the battlefield. Kaito: "With Galaxy Photon Dragon's might, I activate its effect! By using one Overlay Unit, I send a card from my deck to the graveyard."

"Witness the true might of the galaxy!" As Kaito detaches Galaxy Wizard from Galaxy Photon Dragon. "I send the card Photon Emperor to the graveyard. And because Galaxy Wizard is in my graveyard I can special summon my Photon Emperor in defense mode and have an extra normal summon of light attribute monster!" The graveyard opens as a small, swirling circle of cosmic light. From this shimmering vortex, Photon Emperor emerges, soaring through the starry void with a burst of radiant energy. It lands gracefully in kneeling with its hard raised defensively on the field. "Before I forget, Galaxy Photon Dragon boosts all other light monsters by 500 attack points while it's on the field. Now since I have a Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon in my hand, I special summon Galaxy Brave as a level 8 monster!" With a flourish of cosmic light, Galaxy Brave makes its entrance. The hero materializes in a brilliant display of energy, clad in sleek and shimmering armor.

Kaito exclaims "I overlay Galaxy Brave with Photon Emperor to build the Overlay Network once more!" The Overlay Network materializes above the field, a swirling vortex of stellar energy. The two monsters merge into a brilliant, spiraling beam of light, which shoots into the vortex. Kaito "I summon in Defense Mode! Blade master of the galaxy! I XYZ Summon—emerge, Number 80: Galaxy-Eyes Photon Lord! (2500+500 ATK / 3000 DEF)" Number 80: Galaxy-Eyes Photon Lord manifests on the field, a towering knight clad in gleaming, celestial armor. The imposing figure, adorned with intricate cosmic patterns and wielding a radiant sword, descends with a powerful, resonating roar." With that, I end my turn with a facedown card." Kaito said, placing a card in his middle spell/trap zone.

Fade: "Since you've seen this before, I'll skip the details. I'll start by Normal Summoning one Vanishing Lanius!" Vanishing Lanius swoops down from the sky, its sleek body cuts through the air. The bird lands smoothly on the field spreading its wings wide once its talons touch the ground. "I'll activate the effect of Vanishing Lanius to Special Summon another Vanishing Lanius from my hand!" The second Vanishing Lanius joins the field with a burst of energy. Fade continues "And now, I'll use my last Vanishing Lanius to complete my setup! Next, I activate the effect of the newly summoned Vanishing Lanius to Special Summon Tribute Lanius in Attack Mode! Tribute Lanius lets me send one Raidraptor card from my deck to the graveyard!" Fade's duel disk spat out an hologram where he selected Raidraptor - Mimicry Lanius to send to the graveyard. His deck reshuffled automatically as he said "With Mimicry in my graveyard, I banish it to add a Raidraptor card to my hand. I choose to add and activate the spell card Raidraptor - Roost!" 

Fade exclaims with anger in his eyes "I overlay my two Vanishing Lanius to summon Raiders' Knight!" A knight emerges onto the field, riding a majestic steed. The armored knight, clad in dark, imposing armor, grips a gleaming lance. As it lands, the horse rears slightly, and the knight steadies himself. Fade "Since I summoned Raiders' Knight, I can activate Roost to add one Raidraptor card to my hand—" Kaito cuts him off "You'd think so, but I activate my facedown Tachyon Transmigration!" The card flips over revealing a swirling vortex of cosmic energy, a mesmerizing whirlpool of radiant light and shifting stardust. Bright, star-like bursts punctuated the swirling chaos, casting an ethereal glow that seemed to pulse with immense power. "Let me explain what Tachyon Transmigration does. When activated, it negates the effect of any card you just activated—in this case, your Roost. But that's not all. It also shuffles that card back into your deck" The swirling energy pulls Roost from the field with a powerful, magnetic force, erasing its effects. In a final burst of energy, Roost is drawn into the vortex and swiftly shuffled back into Fade's deck. Meanwhile, Tachyon Transmigration itself disintegrates in a flash of light, sending its card to the graveyard. Fade scowls and says "Fine then I'll activate Raiders' Knight's effect by detaching one material!" The knight's lance glows brightly, as an Overlay Unit merges with the lance's blade. Kaito interrupts sharply, "And before you can go any further, my Photon Lord will use an Overlay Unit to negate Raiders' Knight effect!" He gestures towards Galaxy-Eyes Photon Lord, whose aura intensifies. "Let me explain. When an opponent's monster activates its effect, I can detach one Overlay Unit from Photon Lord to negate that effect. And if the detached material was a 'Galaxy' card, I get to destroy that monster instead. And I chose to detach Galaxy Brave!"

Photon Lord detaches one of its Overlay Units, which transforms into a stream of shimmering, celestial particles. These particles converge around Photon Lord's sword, infusing it with radiant energy. The sword absorbs the detached Overlay Unit, its blade glowing even brighter as it channels the power. With a powerful swing, Photon Lord directs a decisive strike towards Raiders' Knight. Raiders' Knight attempts to raise its lance in defense, but the enhanced sword's energy overwhelms its defenses. In a burst of light, Raiders' Knight is destroyed, and is sent to the graveyard.

Despite the dire situation, Fade smirks and says, "I summon Raidraptor—Strangle Lanius with its effect. Since I control a Dark-attribute monster, I can Special Summon it!" Strangle Lanius swoops onto the field with a graceful and menacing presence. As Fade started his chant, dark and stormy clouds started gathering as the winds howled. As the overlaying process begins, the monsters flew into the air, their forms merging into a brilliant, swirling vortex of energy. "Soar on wings of courage, TALONS READY FOR THE REBELLION — I XYZ Summon in Attack position! Soar to the heavens, Raidraptor - Rise Falcon!" The three overlaying monsters merge into a radiant beam of light, piercing through the sky and dispersing into a dazzling display of glowing particles. Dark, roiling clouds swirl above, and a brilliant energy vortex forms within them. The vortex pulses with radiant light and crackles with immense power, casting an otherworldly glow that cuts through the storm's chaos. From this swirling vortex, a massive shadow emerges. The storm's turbulence clears momentarily as Rise Falcon dives from the clouds. The mechanical bird, designed with sleek, aerodynamic lines and gleaming metallic feathers, slicing through the storm as it approaches the field. Its massive wings spread wide, creating a gust of wind that stirs the surrounding air. The talons of Rise Falcon (100 ATK 2000 DEF) grip the ground firmly as it lands, while its armored body shimmers with a fierce, radiant light.

Kaito, looking shocked, asked "What is this card?! You never had it before!"

Fade smiles with sadness and rage in his eyes "This card was the combination between me and one of my closest friends. I would never let your dirty eyes sully it before. But now, I'll use it to unleash our wrath against you!" 

Kaito smirked and said "Mhm sure tell yourself that all you want. But reality has a different ending than your dream world. With only 100 Attack points it's more of a chicken than a falcon." 

Fade snorted and said "It might be a weak falcon right now. But it easily has the power to end you in one turn! I activate Rise Falcons effect! By detaching one overlay unit to gain all the attack of special summoned monsters on the field!" 

Rise Falcon begins to radiate with a fierce, fiery energy. Its aura intensifies, and the swirling vortex of light beneath it pulses rhythmically. The mechanical bird extends its sharp talons towards the sky, and one of its Overlay Units detaches with a burst of sparkling brilliance. This unit, glowing with a vivid blue light, spirals upward before vanishing into the atmosphere. As the Overlay Unit disappears, Rise Falcon absorbs the released energy. The transformation is swift and dramatic. The bird's previously subtle aura becomes a dazzling, dark red glow that envelops it completely. Its form slightly enlarges, and its metallic feathers shine with renewed intensity. The bird's eyes gleam brightly, and its radiant plumage reflects the newfound strength. With the energy from the Special Summoned monsters now channeled into it, Rise Falcon's attack points surge dramatically. The entire battlefield is bathed in a dark, powerful red light

With a fierce, unwavering gaze, Fade raises his hand and commands, "Rise Falcon, let your fury unleash and trounce all who stand in your way!" The mechanical bird lets out a resonant cry, and its eyes blaze with fierce determination. Fade's voice rings out over the battlefield, "Swoop down with unyielding might, shatter the defenses and claim victory! Rise Falcon, strike with all your strength!"

Rise Falcon soars high into the air, its massive wings beat with powerful thrusts, stirring the atmosphere with a tempest of wind. Fade shouted "Rise Falcon, tear through the heavens and annihilate your foe! Ravaging Rebellion!" With a commanding flap of its wings, Rise Falcon dives down toward Photon Lord and Galaxy Photon Dragon with breathtaking speed. The talons of the bird, gleaming and razor-sharp, extend menacingly. As it descends, the talons sweep through the air, gathering a formidable force. Rise Falcon's descent is swift and precise. It scoops toward the 2 opposing monsters with a powerful, predatory motion. The attack is fierce and direct, aiming to overwhelm and incapacitate. The talons, glowing with a fierce energy, scrape against the defending figure of Photon Lord, their impact causing a brilliant flare of light and a resonant clang. The force of the attack is overwhelming. Photon Lord attempts to brace itself, but the sheer power of Rise Falcon's talons proves too much. The impact causes a violent explosion, sending waves of energy cascading across the battlefield. The explosive force engulfs Photon Lord, tearing through its defenses, the Galaxy Photon dragon also caught in the explosion

Fade: 8000 LP Kaito: 4900 LP

Kaito, bleeding and battered from the explosion, glares at Fade and growls, "Is that all you've got?" Fade retorts, "Not even close. I activate Rank-Up-Magic Revolution Force to rank up my Rise Falcon into Raidraptor - Brave Strix!" The storm above grows more intense as Rise Falcon takes flight, soaring up into the dark, swirling clouds. Its form glows with a fierce, radiant light as it ascends into the heart of the storm. 

The clouds churn violently, crackling with raw energy as Rise Falcon enters the storm. The mechanical bird is enveloped by a blinding vortex of energy, its metallic feathers shimmering and bending under the pressure of the transformation. 

Fade called out "From the heart of the storm, heed the call of the brave! I overlay Rise Falcon—transcend to greater heights! RANK-UP-XYZ EVOLUTION, DESCEND, Raidraptor - Brave Strix! (2500 ATK / 2500 DEF)"

The vortex pulses with a deep, resonant hum as it draws Rise Falcon into its swirling depths. Amidst the storm's fury, Rise Falcon's form begins to break apart, the light of its body dissolving into streams of luminous energy. The vortex intensifies, and the storm's turbulence swirls around the coalescing energy. With a burst of brilliant light, Rise Falcon is reformed. The storm clears momentarily as a new, majestic figure emerges from the clouds. Raidraptor - Brave Strix descends from the storm, its powerful wings slicing through the air with a commanding presence.

 "Brave Strix, attack kaito directly!" Fade commands. Brave Strix swoops down, its powerful attack crashing into Kaito, causing him to stagger. 

Fade: 8000 LP Kaito: 4900- 2000 = 2900 LP

"Now I will end my battle phase and activate Brave Strix's effect. To do this, I need to detach one of its overlay units."

Brave Strix emits a burst of light as it detaches Vanishing Lanius. The detached unit spirals upward and disappears into the storm. Fade explains, "Brave Strix allows me to detach one material to set a Raidraptor Spell or Trap from my Deck. Additionally, because Brave Strix has a Winged Beast monster as material, and since Rise Falcon is also a Winged Beast, I can instead detach an overlay unit to add a Rank-Up Magic Spell from my Deck to my hand." With the effect completed, Fade continues, "I choose Rank-Up-Magic Skip Force to add to my hand. This card ranks up one of my Raidraptor Xyz monsters into an even more powerful form. Watch as my Raidraptor - Brave Strix evolves into Raidraptor - Arsenal Falcon!"

Brave Strix soars upward into the storm, a dazzling display of energy surrounds it. The stormy sky darkens, and the swirling clouds converge into a powerful vortex of blinding light. Brave Strix is enveloped by this intense brilliance, its form shifting and transforming within the radiant storm. With each beat of its wings, the light intensifies, and the once sleek and streamlined figure of Brave Strix begins to expand and morph. The vibrant, gold and silver energy engulfs it, reshaping its body into the formidable Raidraptor - Arsenal Falcon. The transformation culminates as Arsenal Falcon emerges from the vortex, its colossal wings outstretched and gleaming with a high-tech, metallic sheen. The majestic mechanical bird floats gracefully above the field, the advanced machinery integrated into its design allowing it to hover effortlessly. Its sharp talons glint menacingly, reflecting the storm's erratic lightning as it prepares to dominate the battlefield with its new, enhanced power.

As Arsenal Falcon hovers above the field, Fade activates its effect. "Using Arsenal Falcon's effect, I'll detach one of its overlay units to summon a Raidraptor from my deck," he announces. The energy of the detached overlay unit bursts into radiant light, spiraling upward before disappearing into the storm. With a bright flash, Raidraptor - Strangle Lanius emerges from the deck.

"Strangle Lanius revives a Raidraptor from my graveyard," Fade continues. As he speaks, Vanishing Lanius materializes onto the field. The bird-like creature emerges from the shadows with a swift, graceful motion, its dark plumage catching the light. It lands with a slight flutter, ready for action. "But it won't stay for long," he adds. "I'll use it along with Arsenal Falcon to Link Summon - Raidraptor - Wise Strix!"

The Arsenal Falcon and Vanishing Lanius combine, their forms merging into a pair of glowing arrows. Arsenal Falcon and Vanishing Lanius combine their powers in a dazzling display of light. As they merge, their figures intertwine, forming two luminous arrows that streak through the tempestuous storm. These arrows converge, creating a swirling, radiant portal that pulses with intense energy. From within this gateway, Raidraptor - Wise Strix materializes, emerging with a dramatic, majestic swoop.

"Wise Strix will summon a Raidraptor from my deck," Fade explains, "and Arsenal Falcon's effect activates, as it was sent to the graveyard with a Raidraptor monster as material! I can Special Summon another Raidraptor XYZ Monster from my Extra Deck, and attach Arsenal Falcon as a material!" Fade chanted "Rise from the storm and pierce the heavens! In the vortex of power, soar forth—Raidraptor - Ultimate Falcon!"" Fade exclaims as the storm churns furiously above, the sky erupts with crackling energy, coalescing into a swirling vortex. Within this tempestuous whirlpool of light and power, Raidraptor - Ultimate Falcon (3500 ATK / 2000 DEF) descends with a powerful swoop. Its massive yellow wings stretch wide, casting an imposing shadow over the battlefield.

Wise Strix's effect activates. "Wise Strix, summon Bloom Vulture (300 ATK / 1900 DEF) from my deck in defense mode!" Fade declares, and Bloom Vulture appears alongside Ultimate Falcon. "Wise Strix's effect kicks in," Fade explains with a confident grin. "Since I activated Arsenal Falcon's effect, Wise Strix allows me to set a Rank-Up Magic Spell from my Deck. If that Spell is a Quick-Play, I can use it right away. But for now, you'll just have to wait and see what it does. Now, I overlay my Bloom Vulture and Strangle Lanius to XYZ Summon Force Strix (100 ATK / 2000 DEF), in Defense Mode!" As Bloom Vulture and Strangle Lanius aligned in the sky, their forms changed into orbs of light that arced through the air, converging into a radiant, spiraling vortex of energy in the storm. Within this dazzling whirlpool of light, the imposing figure of Force Strix emerges. Force Strix materializes with a powerful surge, its sleek, avian form crackling with energy.

"I end my turn here, though" Fade smirked. Ultimate Falcon spreads its immense yellow wings wide. The mechanical bird's eyes blaze with intense energy as it locks onto Kaito. With a mighty roar, Ultimate Falcon channels its power, and a brilliant laser beam erupts from its beak. The beam slices through the air with incredible force, its searing intensity illuminating the battlefield and crashing into Kaito. The impact sends him staggering backward, pain and shock evident on his face as he absorbs the full force of the attack.

Fade: 8000 LP Kaito: 2900- 1000 = 1900 LP

"H-h-how?" Kaito spat out coughing blood "You were never this powerful."

"Ultimate Falcon's attack is relentless," Fade responds with a chilling tone, his eyes cold. "This is the true power of my Raidraptor, and it's not something you'll be able to withstand."

As Kaito draws, his eyes light up with happiness said "Well looks like your lucky break is over, "I Special Summon Photon Thrasher (2100 ATK / 0 DEF) from my hand! It must be Special Summoned while I control no monsters, and it can't attack if I have another monster on the field. But its role shall become more clear later on." A burst of bright, radiant energy erupts on the field. The sleek, armored warrior materializes with a powerful hum, its shimmering, metallic body reflecting the ambient light. "There is no later." Fade's piercing gaze meets him as he utters those words. "I win," Fade declares confidently, revealing his set card, Rank-Up Magic – Raidraptor Force.

Before Fade's newly summoned monster can fully manifest, Kaito quickly deploys a smoke bomb, obscuring Fade's vision. "This isn't over," Kaito's voice echoes through the smoke. "We'll track you down and make you pay for betraying us."

"Then bring better plan than just summoning Photon Lord and passing" Fade exclaims as he regains his sight, having won the duel via forfeit.

With a somber expression, Fade approaches Genji's lifeless body. He delicately picks up Genji's Sky Striker deck, whispering, "I'll take this with me to always remember you. Rest friend, you've earned it" As he holds the deck, a strange, glowing line suddenly appears before him. Fade's eyes widened in confusion. "What is that?" he asks, his voice tinged with uncertainty. The line erupts with a sudden, powerful force, and before he can react, it pulls him into its swirling depths.

Fade is unceremoniously expelled from the vortex, landing roughly in a narrow, dimly lit alleyway. He groans as he scrambles to his feet, disoriented. The alley is cramped and cluttered with debris, the distant hum of a bustling city barely perceptible. Fade takes a tentative step forward, trying to make sense of his surroundings. The city's energy feels distant and foreign, adding to his confusion and sense of displacement.

As Fade stumbles through the dark alleyway, the overwhelming sounds and sights of the city begin to seep into his senses. The once-narrow passageway opens up into a vast, bustling metropolis. The sheer scale and the ceaseless activity of the city are both awe-inspiring and disorienting.

The towering skyscrapers, adorned with vibrant neon lights and colossal holograms, stretch far above, casting long shadows across the streets below. The hologram of Van, a well-known figure in the city, welcomes all newcomers with an arrogant sounding call "Welcome to Negate City!"

Fade's eyes dart around, trying to process his new reality. "Where... where am I?" he mutters to himself, his voice tinged with confusion and disbelief.

Fade steps into the open, his gaze sweeping across the sprawling urban landscape. The sheer magnitude of the city is overwhelming, and the vibrant lights and holograms only serve to deepen his sense of disorientation.

He takes a deep breath, trying to steady himself amidst the sensory overload. The familiar world he once knew feels like a distant memory. He realizes he is far from home, in a place that seems both alien and bustling with life.

As he takes in the sights—the flying cars zipping through the air, the holographic advertisements flickering with messages he can't quite decipher—Fade feels a pang of isolation. "This isn't my world," he says, his voice echoing with a mix of confusion and fear "where am I?"

In a dimly lit skyscraper, an deck was being continually shuffled as an man shuffled them slowly. Pure silence filled the room, as the man stood up and walked to the glass window overlooking the city. The man stood taking in the view, but suddenly staggered back as if hit by an wave. He looked up and grinned, "Looks like I'm not the only one." The man stood up and placed his hands against the glass window as he turned around and said "Well thank you for your hospitality, but it seem like I need to get going now. Adiós, Amigos!" Pushing against the window, the glass shattered and the man leaped off. The shattered glass reflected an golden tail for a brief second before falling down and showing nothing but the night sky.

"POLICE! PUT YOUR HANDS UP!" 

The door to the room was slammed open as police officers busted through the flimsy door. Once through they were on guard expecting retaliation almost immediately but nothing came. Quickly they searched all the rooms, and found the main room. 

"By the gods.."

"Dispatch. We are going to need some ambulances. How many? Ten should be enough."

The room was destroyed, the walls shredded as if a tiger had clawed them, the glass shards laying on the ground reflecting the night sky as the police officers started assisting the bodies that were scattered around the room.
