I finished breakfast and dressed in my vest and leggings, attached my daggers to my thighs and in my boots, I was so ready to take down my brothers. I knew they would all be there trying to cheer her up. And they knew the best way to do that was to try and beat me at my own game. Now the whole castle would know of yesterdays events. They would about me being a necromancer now. They probably think I'm dangerous now and fear me. Women weren't necromancer. It's not like powers had genders assigned it's just certain gifts manifest
differently in different people. And necromancy didn't appear in women since that kind of magic was incompatible with us because of that whole giving life thing we can do. So I was just one big walking, talking anomaly.
I leave my room and headed toward the training grounds. When I arrived at the entrance, I noticed noticed the score board had changed and….
"Elliot…" I growled noticed he beat me in archery recently. That little shit. Probably thinks he's all bad ass now once he knocked me out of first.
Well, I know what my goal for the day is. Humble my brother and knock him out of my spot.
As I approach, I notice movement behind me. He was fast but I was faster. I waited for the opportune time and when it came, I dodged him and turned to flip him over, pinning him to the ground. I climbed on top sitting perched on top and pulled my dagger from my boot and put it to his throat.
"Haha, you have to be quicker than that to pull one over on me Erinn"
"Okay okay you win, now get off me you fat cow" Erinn grumbled, I could tell he embarrassed by being bested by his baby sister. His cheeks were red with frustration.
Hearing an applause now I reminded there was actually an audience for my big brothers humiliating defeat. Half the castle was present. Oops. "Ha! Erinn how do expect to command an army if you let a little girl get the best of you!" Alistar shouted from across the the way.
"You shut the hell up, Ass-Star not like you could have done any better!" Oleander yelled. Oleander was Arragon's younger twin brother and my 4th oldest brother.
He was my main training partner, only him and Alderic could keep up with me most of the time, let alone beat me. All of my brothers were present as well as HIM. What was he doing here? At MY training grounds? Who invited him anyways?
"That is where you are wrong little brother" Alistar retorted "I would not engage in a physical battle with my sister, that is not where my skill lies. I am not a babbling
buffoon that just throws around my body or metal. I'm an intellectual I battle with my mind not my fist. And that's a battle I know she can't win" glaring at me with a snide smile.
"You know you're right! But I could catch you before you could beat me back to a library. I'd like to see how your 'big brain' gets you out of my grapple" I growled at him standing up from my crouched position on top my brother.
"Let's put your brains and my fists to the test 'big brother'" I yell taking off kicking dirt on Erinn who was pushing up off the ground.
"Gods, I hate you Rion you're such brat!" Erinn yelled back at me.
In seconds I was in front of Alistar and I throw my fist at his face and his eyes go wide, surprised by my speed, he uses his magic to misty step back making me miss his face barely by an inch. He ducts me using his magic to deflect my blows. I can feel the frustration building. I hate people who use magic, they're biggest pain in my ass as far as training opponents go.
"Neat magic trick, just wait, you'll run out of mana before I run out of stamina."

Orion and Alistar are now engaged in their own fight. After she had beaten Erinn in front of half the castle, Alistar couldn't let her beat him in front of everyone, especially after all the shit he just talked. Back and forth they go her throwing blows and him dodging them, he tried to hit her with a blast of wind knocking her back some, she jumped back on to her feet and lunged at him again, she was getting frustrated, and he saw. He saw his opening and he summoned a solar blast in the center of his hands. He blasted her in the chest knocking her down again. Orion was losing her focus, and she knew she had to check back in.
Why was she so determined to beat Alistar now? She never cared this much before. Was it because of HIM? He was here. Watching her intensely, eyes dripping over every part of her body. She could feel his eye on her. She couldn't shake the feeling.
'Go away.' She thought
The heat in her was rising and she was still distracted so when Alistar saw another chance and he took it. Using his misty step when she threw this next blow to come from her blind side and grabs her with his biding spell. Trapped by what felt like rings closing in her body. Anger flushed her face turning her pink. She could feel her losing her grip on her emotions.
"Cool down" she whispered to herself. Breathe. Think critically. She closed her eyes and took in deep breaths. Focus. Focus. Opening her eyes they glowed purple again. She felt this urge to draw something to her and she let that urge take the lead. She would show Alistar just because she isn't as smart as him doesn't mean she wasn't as good as him. Orion had always wanted Alistar's approval when it came to magic. He was the best magic user in their family, except for their mother. It was never about beating him when they trained, it was always about earning his respect as an opponent. But this time was different.Letting her instinct take hold.
Everyone's eyes widened as they watched her whole being glow purple, calling shadows to her. She starts to levitate and then furrowing her brows she smirks. The smile dropping from Alistars face as the shadows are sent at him. Flowing across the ground grabbing his legs. Losing concentration Orion breaks the binding spell dropping the shadows climbing up her brother, she leaps toward him, landing her hands on his shoulder and her feet in the air behind her, she knocks Alistar to the ground and then unsheathes her dagger and puts it to his throat.
"One. Two. Three. I win"
Orion kneeling over Alistar with a grin of pride on her. The shock pored over his face as he realized his baby sister just used the shadows to beat him. He was pissed and concerned, didn't she know how dangerous that kind of magic is? He pushes her off him knocking her to the ground looking at her and said "I don't know what's going on with you, but you need to get a grip, shadow wielding, that was uncool and unfair magic you could have killed me if you haven't master the control over them. I didn't even know you could do that now. That's advanced magic, and way more than you can handle." He said with a deep angry voice. Dusting himself off " I'm going to see mother to discuss this with her." he just turned and walked back to the palace. She stared at him as he walked away, confused, and disappointed. She thought she had rather good control over her shadows, especially given it was her first time, she didn't even know she could do that. She fought fair. He had used magic too. And then she heard the crowd chatting among themselves about what they'd seen with their own eyes just now. Their princess, a girl, was really wielding necromancy. Shaking off the shock of her brother's behavior, she gets up and dusts herself off. Her brothers approach her patting her on the back and the top of her head.
Orion
Emmery speaks first "Thank the gods someone finally put that asshat in his place." Trying to lift the weird energy in the air.
I laughed. It worked.
Ass was a common word thrown in front of her older brother's name. Because that's what he was. An arrogant ass. Oleander and her father, King Osiris, walks up.
Staring up at them.
