Todd's Point Of View
Todd stood at the door brooding. He understood that Mizuyuki wanted privacy for the intimate matters, however, matters of the past just wouldn't let Todd rest at ease.
'Never imagined I'd be back in this wretched house of horrors.'
While Stephen had been nothing but the perfect gentleman to Mizuyuki, Stephen's father had been an absolute nightmare to deal with. He was actually grateful to know that the serpent like bastard, didn't frequent the mansion anymore. Todd surely thought to put a bullet in him just for his peace of mind.
'I have to report to my lady about the unexpected events that are playing out.'
Todd took out his phone and sent a quick and precise message to Myah.
—At Stephen's mansion in Valley Cottage. As per Mizuyuki's request. Seems the young master let his curiosity get the best of him.... again. Will stay until he leaves.—
A few moments later there was a small vibration on his chest pocket.
— Remember our agreement. If he gets hurt u diie. Don't leave that mansion withoout him. I'd haate to have to kill you too Todd. Do. Yoour. Joob.—
It never ceased to amaze him that even when she was heavily intoxicated she could still be menacing via text. Though Todd had no intention of abandoning Mizuyuki, there were some places he knew he would not be privy to. However, as commanded by his misses he would not leave the mansion without Mizuyuki.
Todd made quick call to the security detail requesting another car. Since they took Stephen's car here, he would definitely be needing one of his own and back-up if need be.
After securing a ride he stood firm at the door again. Straining his ears for the most minutae sound. Just then, he heard soft foot steps heading towards the door, then it slowly opened.
As he looked upon the opening door, he was faced with a flushed-face Mizuyuki, his neck becoming more and more red the longer he stood there.
"Is there something wrong Mizuyuki? Did he do something untoward to you?" Todd said, placing both hands on each of his weapons. Mizuyuki hastily placed a hand atop his, and vehemently shook his head.
"N-No. I-It isn't like t-that at all. I-it's just that.... I... w-would... like to...s-spend the night... h-here." Mizuyuki mumbled, face beet red by the end of his statement.
Even though he knew it would happen, he couldn't help but be a little taken aback. Mizuyuki had always been the naive and easily swayed type.
Unfortunately for Todd, he was also strong willed in the most uncanny way. So he could never scold him outright, it always felt like kicking a dog when it had tried its very best to be a good boy. Still his love for the boy would not overshadow his own fear and trepidation. Planting his feet and squaring his shoulders he looked Mizuyuki in the eyes.
"As ordered by the misses. I am not to leave the premises without you in tow. If it makes you comfortable Yuki I will wait in the car, that has no doubt arrived outside in front of the mansion, until you are ready to leave. Or would you rather I wait inside for you?" Todd inquired.
Mizuyuki stared up at him in shock, looking as if his brain was slowly processing everything Todd had said. Then a look of realization dawned on his face.
"You would stay here? For me? For how long?" He asked, looking more concerned for Todd, than himself.
'And damn me for feeling happy at that fact. I just wished this guy had better self preservation skills.'
"I will stay for as long as you do. Be that an hour, a day, or a week. Such is the task assigned to me. So worry not, I will not be alone. And should you wish to return home at any time just walk out that front door or call me and I will be right there." Todd said.
The cogs were working overtime for Mizuyuki as everything sank in. Then after another brief pause he nodded and agreed, a faint smile playing on his lips, no doubt relieved that he wouldn't be totally alone at this estate. While Myah was indeed Todd's master, he would not hesitate to cut a man down to protect Mizuyuki.
With or without orders he would act accordingly. While Stephen's father could put up a fake persona for social gatherings, it did nothing to dampen his sadistic madness behind closed doors.
'And as the old adage goes; the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. This would turn into quite the dilemma if that turns out to be true.'
Todd ruffled Mizuyuki's hair, kissed the top of his head and headed for the front door.
"Thank you Todd. For everything." He heard Mizuyuki quietly say as he walked away.
'Sure kid, just don't make me regret this, please.'
He thought with a silent prayer as he heard the door softly close and he rounded a corner heading for the stairs.
