Zahra ran, her short, steady legs carrying her through the oppressive darkness,

Her hospital gown offering little protection against the oppressive darkness. She stumbled briefly but steadied herself,

"Is the darkness working with you?" she whispered, voice barely audible, almost lost in the suffocating silence.

Another shadow lashed out from the blackness, aiming to strike her. She twisted to the side, narrowly dodging the blow, her breath shallow. Her fingers found the small, worn ring on her finger, her grip tightening on it. "Missed you," she muttered to the ring, a fleeting, bittersweet warmth in her words

Behind her, the eye began to speak, its voice a guttural murmur that seemed to echo inside her mind as much as in the thick, oppressive air. "Don't run now! I mean it when I say I haven't moved in over two thousand years."
