Two souls, two faiths, a chasm deep and wide,
She, embraced by the waves gentle tide,
I, in his love, forever abide.
Our hearts, resolute, unwavering stand,
Each choosing faith o'er love's demand.
"Convert" we cry, "We'd rather die"
Oh You, this ache, this burning in my chest,
Grant me solace, give my spirit rest.
This love, puts my faith to test.
Angst creeps in, a shadow dark and long,
"Why isn't he born in my way of life" her heart's sad song.
"If only, if only," my soul's silent gong.
Days fly swift, like whispers in the night,
Yet our love grows strong, defying plight.
My love for her, a flame that will not dim,
But greater still, my love for Him.
Between two loves, my heart swims.
In this twilight of joy and pain,
Two paths diverge, ne'er to meet again.
Yet in my heart, her love remains.
"We'd rather die." we say yet again.
He writes.
