Chapter 27: Veil Of Schemes
"We can't do that," Wen Qipa said sweetly as she entered the lounge. "We can't treat Nian'er that way; she is still a lady of the Huang Mansion."
"Mother, how can you defend her? Are you even aware of what she's done?" Huang Tian questioned, frustration evident in his tone.
"I'm well aware of the situation," Wen Qipa replied calmly, "but the competition is only six months away. It wouldn't be wise for our family to have any scandals right now. We can address this matter once the competition is over."
"The wife is so clever. I hadn't even thought of that," Huang Yuan chimed in.
"Huang Nian, just because we're delaying this doesn't mean I've forgiven you."
"Do you think I care for your forgiveness?" Huang Nian shot back, before swiftly leaving the lounge.
"You... Come back here!" Huang Yuan yelled after her, anger rising.
"Honey, calm down," Wen Qipa said, gently patting his back, her soothing touch softening his temper.

Magnanimous Courtyard
"Madam, the third miss is here to see you," Wen Qipa's personal maid announced.
"Let her in."
Wen Qipa smiled teasingly as Huang Ning entered. "To what do I owe this visit, young miss?"
"Mother, why did you do that?" Huang Ning asked, frustration in her voice.
"Take a seat, dear. What exactly are you referring to?" Wen Qipa responded, her tone light.
"Don't play innocent, Mother. They were about to throw that slut out, but you stepped in and stopped them!" Huang Ning complained, her voice rising.
"Ah, that matter," Wen Qipa said, her voice calm yet knowing. "Don't you think it would've been too obvious if she were cast out right after the warehouse fire?"
"You knew about that?" Huang Ning's eyes widened in surprise.
"Of course," Wen Qipa replied with a small, knowing smile. "Why do you think your father married me, despite my humble background? My ability to read people and situations. Your father doesn't suspect you because he trusts you far too much and fears getting on my bad side."
"Mother, please help me," Huang Ning pleaded, desperation creeping into her voice. "I hate that she's more beautiful than me. I want to get rid of her."
Wen Qipa smiled, her eyes glinting with confidence. "My dear, you are far more beautiful than her. She is nothing compared to you. And don't worry—I already have a plan."
"Are you sure it will work, Mother?" Huang Ning asked, doubt mingling with her hope.
Wen Qipa leaned in closer, her voice a whisper. "Trust me, my daughter. I am skilled in these matters. Now, come closer."
As Wen Qipa whispered her plan into Huang Ning's ear, a smile of satisfaction spread across her daughter's face.
