Luo Yang knew exactly how to cheer An Yuying up, with just a few words he could turn her anger into joy.
Visiting Zhu Li's shop was all about giving An Yuying a day of happiness.
An Yuying usually had a nap at noon, without a bit of rest, she lacked energy.
Besides, she was still a bit tipsy.
"Sister An, take a rest first. We might have more programs tonight," he said.
"What kind of programs?"
"I'll tell you later. Sister An, take a break for now. I'll play some light music for you, okay?"
First, he went to turn on the sound system, record player, and other equipment, selected a song, set the volume to the lowest level, and then slipped out of the private room.
Out in the hallway, he intended to call Chen Jie to join them in the private room where the Shuang Qiaos were, to talk about how to resolve the debt issue.
It wasn't really Chen Jie's problem to deal with the debt of the Shuang Qiaos.
But Luo Yang didn't currently have enough money to help the Shuang Qiaos pay off their debts.
His plan was to borrow some money from Chen Jie or Zhu Li first to relieve Shuang Qiao Company's pressure.
There's no such thing as a free lunch.
To help pay off the Shuang Qiaos' debt, that was no problem.
But they would also need to give something in return, Luo Yang wanted them to work for him.
The money they owed him would be deducted from their salary.
It was something that couldn't be left unsaid, but mentioning it seemed stingy.
Luo Yang was still sincere and not quite as sophisticated with social intricacies; there were things he felt awkward about voicing.
If it were a small amount of money, it wouldn't matter so much.
But because the sum was quite large, he had to think it through carefully.
Upon arriving at the room where the Shuang Qiaos were, he felt it was a good time to talk to them about the debt while they were still a bit drunk.
If they agreed to work for him to repay the money, then he would take over their troubles.
So Luo Yang slipped into the private room where the Shuang Qiaos were by himself.
Qiao Yousi wasn't very drunk anymore, just sleepy, and was dozing off on the couch.
When Luo Yang entered, Qiao Yousi opened her eyes slightly.
She rested her right elbow on the arm of the sofa, propped up her head, and lay back on the couch.
"Niu Zai, get me a glass of water, I'm so thirsty," Qiao Yousi pleaded.
Luo Yang had no choice but to go out and bring back two cups of plain water, one for each of the sisters.
"Niu Zai, is there really no hangover remedy left?" Qiao Zai Shui glanced at him through bleary eyes and asked.
"There's some at home. You're not that drunk, you'll be fine," Luo Yang replied.
Giving them a hangover remedy when they would just continue drinking afterward would be wasting Pond Water.
After they both drank half a cup of plain water, Luo Yang said, "Big Sister Qiao, Little Sister Qiao, there's something I would like to discuss with you."
They had talked about it before, but most of it revolved around how to find money to pay off their debts; the extent of their obligations hadn't been discussed yet.
Qiao Zai Shui said, "Just say it, we all know each other well. Don't beat around the bush."
Perhaps Luo Yang's skin wasn't thick enough yet—when it came to asking them to work to repay the debt, there was still a sense of awkwardness.
He chuckled and then said, "Big Sister Qiao, Little Sister Qiao, I will find a way to pay off the debts you owe to others. It's just that..."
Both Er Qiaos were all ears, noticing that Luo Yang stopped halfway and didn't finish.
"What is it?" Qiao Zai Shui asked curiously.
They were worried Luo Yang might not be able to help.
"Nothing. I'll pay off the debt, and you help me work it off. You can work for me for the rest of your lives. How about that? I won't let you down," Luo Yang said with a smile.
Hearing his intentions, both Shuang Qiaos smiled.
"Niu Zai, first pay off our debts, and then we can discuss. As long as the conditions you offer are good, we're willing to work for you," Qiao Yousi said.
"Agreed then. Working with me, I'll make sure you become bosses," Luo Yang declared.
Both Shuang Qiaos laughed.
Qiao Zai Shui laughed and said, "Niu Zai, if you're willing to give us forty percent shares in the hangover remedy business, then we could really become bosses."
As soon as the hangover remedy was mentioned, Luo Yang quickly said, "That's negotiable. Let's not talk about it now. Come on, I'll toast to you."
There were wine glasses on the coffee table, still with some red wine in them.
The three of them sat down on the sofa and began to drink lightly.
