Just as he was about to speak, he heard An Yuying's voice coming from below.
"Niu Zai, Guihua, what are you two doing up there?" An Yuying called out sweetly.
The two had been in the attic for quite some time, and except for some conversation that had drifted down earlier, it had become very quiet.
Occasionally, there were slight noises from the ceiling.
"Sister An, I'm helping Sister Guihua organize some stuff," Luo yang responded.
He knew An Yuying would soon come up to see for herself.
Tang Guihua, biting his ear, giggled and said, "Yuying is keeping such a close eye on us. It's hard to find a chance to be alone with you. And you won't let me get up?"
At that moment, they heard An Yuying saying from below, "I'll come up and help too."
Immediately after, they could hear the sound she made as she steadied the ladder, evidently preparing to climb up.
By the time An Yuying climbed up the ladder, she saw Luo yang and Tang Guihua quietly organizing things on their own.
"Niu Zai, Guihua, what are you doing?"
As An Yuying spoke, she carefully made her way up the ladder to the attic.
"Checking to see if anything's missing. Sister An, let me help you," Luo yang said, crouching down and walking over to steady An Yuying from behind, his hands reaching for her slender waist to prevent her from falling.
"The air is a bit stuffy up here," An Yuying remarked.
At that moment, her right foot was on the attic floor, and she intended to straighten her leg to stand up in the attic.
But she hadn't noticed that the height of the attic space was just over a meter.
It was impossible for an adult to stand upright in the attic.
An Yuying's head thudded against the top of the attic; her left foot, originally resting on the ladder's beam, had retracted, leaving her without any support, dependent only on her right foot to stand up in the attic.
However, as she suddenly straightened her torso, her head collided with the concrete board, and under the force of the rebound, her right leg weakened, and she was about to sit down. With her left foot finding no footing and her right leg unsteady, a fall was inevitable.
She was right at the entrance to the attic, and if Luo yang had not been holding her slender waist, she might have fallen from a height of over two meters.
"Sister An, be careful."
In the nick of time, Luo yang pulled her over with a firm tug.
An Yuying let out a cry of alarm.
"Don't be afraid, Sister An, it's all right now," Luo yang reassured her.
"That was so scary, I almost fell down. It's a good thing you caught me," An Yuying gasped for breath.
"Does it still hurt?" Luo yang asked, gently rubbing the top of her head.
The thud from before had been quite loud, and if An Yuying hadn't exerted so much force, she wouldn't have experienced such a strong pushback.
"It still hurts a bit," An Yuying said happily.
"Yuying, what's the hurry?" Tang Guihua teased.
"I didn't see the situation up here clearly, I thought I could stand up straight. I didn't expect the ceiling to be so low," An Yuying explained.
There wasn't really much to tidy up in the attic; Tang Guihua had only come up to have a private chat with Luo yang, wanting to express the many words of gratitude in her heart.
Now that she had said her piece and seen An Yuying coming up, she guessed that the two would want a moment to themselves, so she found an excuse to go back down.
Once it was just Luo yang and An Yuying left alone in the attic, everything became quiet again.
"Sister An, we've finished organizing the things up here; let's go down, okay?" Luo yang said with a light laugh.
"I have something to say to you. As soon as I come up, you want to go down. If I hadn't come up, you wouldn't have gone down, huh?" she said, pouting her red lips and whispering plaintively.
Just by the tone of her voice, one could sense a strong hint of jealousy, not to mention her expression.
Every time she pouted with jealousy, there was only one method to quickly diminish her jealousy—Luo yang had discovered this through practical experience and it never failed.
A kiss would make everything right.
