Chapter 7 - The hunt (1)

(Time skip to when Kadia is 15)

Kadia was in the backyard with her father in an intense sparing session where they were using wood Swords to replicate thier own with Kadia using the humble katana while her father used a battle are as his weapon. The sounds of wood colliding and cold and parent grunting in pain and excitement filled the air.

"(Panting) Well my daughter it seems you have gained the strength to overpowere your old man.... this is good it means you are ready for any type of physical competition and can handle fighting a giant wolf bear."

Mikhail said while gasping for air on the ground after being struck down by Kadia. As he was saying that a more mature Kadia wiped the sweat of her face and extended her hand to her father indicating she wants to help him up.

"Thanks dad. With this i know the physical part of my training is complete, now all I have to do is talk to that demihuman dragon and mom before heading out with my 'hunting party' and conplete our first hunt"

Kadia said now more mature her facial features showing that of an experienced woman who has gone through hardships of being in a hunting party even if it was supervised by adults. Her hair perfectly showing the color of Indigo. Her body matching that of an 15 year old child however if the child had slightly bigger boobs and thighs as well as being slightly muscler due to harsh training. She was currently wearing gym tights and a sports bra.

After helping her dad up Kadia stretched a little before running to the other side of town to meet her mom in the training area where a multitude of children could be seen training some using strength and physical abilities to fight while others manipulating the arcane arts and performing magic in order to fight. Others were training on how to pick plants correctly and some on how to tame wild life.

"Ahh, there you are my child. How was the sparing match with your father? I sincerely hope he went easy on you."

My mom asked, her voice filled with a mix of concern and pride. I grinned, the memory of the intense sparring session still fresh in my mind.

"He didn't go easy on me at all, Mom. We pushed each other to our limits. It was a great workout."

I stretched my arms, feeling the satisfying ache in my muscles. I was physically ready for whatever challenges the hunt might bring.

"That's good to hear. Now, let's go meet the dragon."

We made our way to the outskirts of the village, where a majestic creature awaited us. Its scales shimmered with a metallic sheen, and its eyes, the color of molten gold, seemed to pierce right through me.

"Greetings, Kaida," the dragon spoke in a voice that was both gentle and commanding. "I am Aira, the guardian of the Whispering Woods. You have been chosen to embark on a perilous quest."

Aira explained that a dark force was threatening the balance of nature in the kingdom. (Each time a unsupervised hunt happens 9 times out of 10 its is solo and the would be hunters are given a scenario which could be real or fake.) A powerful artifact, known as the Heart of the Forest, had been stolen and was being used to corrupt the land. It was up to me and my companions to retrieve the artifact and restore peace.

I felt a surge of excitement and fear. This was a chance to prove myself, to show everyone that I was capable of great things. But it was also a dangerous mission, and I knew that there was a chance I might not return.

"I'll do it," I said, my voice firm. "I'll find the Heart of the Forest and bring it back."

Aira nodded, her eyes filled with approval. "You have the courage of a true warrior. But remember, the journey ahead will be fraught with danger. You must be prepared for anything."

With that, we set off, our path leading deeper into the Whispering Woods. The forest was a labyrinth of twisting paths and towering trees, each one seemingly more sinister than the last.

Along the way, we encountered a variety of dangerous creatures, from venomous spiders to ferocious wolves.

As we ventured further, we sensed an evil presence lurking in the heart of the forest. The air grew heavy with darkness, and the trees seemed to close in around us. I knew we were getting closer to our destination.

Finally, we reached a hidden clearing. In the center of the clearing stood a towering ancient oak tree.

Its branches were gnarled and twisted, and its trunk was covered in strange, glowing symbols.

"This is the Heart of the Forest," Aira explained. "The artifact is hidden within."

I stepped forward, my sword drawn.

I knew that retrieving the artifact would not be easy. The darkness that surrounded the tree was a powerful force, and it would not give up its prize without a fight.
