I only ever had my brother. Ever since I was young he was the one who took care of me. When our parents left us he did everything to make sure I would be okay.
That was the case until he became a freshman. Something in him changed. His bright smile that would make everything okay was gone. He was always angry. It only got worse as time went on. He even formed his gang, which he used to rule over the school. Students, teachers, and even the principals feared him.
At first, I knew I could do nothing to stop him. But when he became a senior gangsters with mob ties began coming to our house and talking to him. I knew I would have to try and talk to him before things got worse.
"You're not my brother and if I hear you tell anyone that you know me. I will kill you!"
Those were the last words he spoke to me before leaving the house. I never saw him after that. I only heard about what he does from some of the students in my school who are part of his gang.
It wasn't until I became a Senior that I heard the news.
"Klaus I have something to tell you?"
"Oliver, why are you here?"
"Your brother, Quinn was killed two days ago in a car accident,"
It was one of the people who worked for my brother had stopped me on my way from school and told me that my brother had been killed. He said that he would pay for the funeral and all I had to do was plan it.
The news broke me. Even though I had not talked or seen him in four years he was still the only family I had. I spent the first day in shock. I could not speak and I did not go to school.
...
As I stood before my brother's grave I could not help but be in shock. All the people that worked for him even the kids in my school that were in his gang all showed up. A few cried while most were saddened. But the one who got my attention was a woman about my brother's age with long blonde hair and blue eyes who fell on her knees crying her eyes out.
(Who was she to him?) I wondered
Looking over at the members of his gang I saw three people that stood in front. They were my brother's best friends and the people who helped him build his gang. They all had saddened expressions except the one in the middle who told me the news. His name was Oliver he had slick back-black hair with blood-red eyes something I had never seen.
Even though he did not show emotion I knew he was hurting the most. He knew my brother the longest and was the closest to him. As I watched him I could see him clenching his fist until his knuckles turned white.
...
Once the funeral was over everyone went home except Oliver and the blonde woman from before who was wiping her teary eyes.
"Klaus, how are you holding up?" Oliver asked in an emotionless tone
"I'm fine...I'll be fine," I replied
"So you're Klaus. Ha y-your Quinn told me so much about you. I'm Annabelle," the woman said holding her hand out
"How did you know my brother?" I asked shaking her hand
"Your brother and I have been dating for five years now," she explained
"I see. I'm glad he was able to care for someone," I replied thinking back to what he said to me
"...Klaus I hope you know no matter what your brother told you he never stopped thinking about you. he always loved you more than anything," Annabelle said placing a hand on my shoulder
"...Okay. But why are you two still here?" I asked
"Quinn told me to give you this if he was to pass away, and he told me to tell you that we all work for you now. He said to do with his gang as you wish." Oliver said handing me an envelope
"He told me that he was to pass away before you got your own place that I should take you in and for you to live with me," Annabelle added
"W-wait I'm sorry but I have no interest in being a gang member, and please don't take offense to this but I don't know you and I am fine living on my own," I replied to them both
"He said you might say that. If you ever change your mind just give me a call," he said passing me another piece of paper before walking away
"I see. He told me not to force you because you would be as hardheaded as him. If you ever change your mind this is my address," Annabelle said wiping her tears and walking away.
After they left I turned back to look at my brother's grave.
{Here lies Quinn Grinnwood}
{2000-2024}
"The first time I see you in four years and you're dead. Now you want me to lead you leave me your gang. You really are something," I laugh
"I will come visit. See you later brother," I sighed leaving the graveyard
