Chapter 23 - Emperor Act [3]

Under the cover of night, Sebastian moved silently, his figure blending seamlessly with the shadows as he followed the girl through the narrow, twisting alleys. His footsteps barely made a sound, almost as if he were gliding across the ground. His golden eyes glimmered with an amused, darker flicker. "Interesting," he muttered under his breath. "Just what are you up to at this hour?"

Finally, they reached a unknown and dark corner of town, a secluded spot no one dared to cross at this hour. A chill filled the air, but Sebastian welcomed it. This place was perfect no witnesses, no interruptions.

A smirk curved onto his lips. "Time to get some answers," he murmured to himself. With a thought, he summoned a fraction of his power. Shadows began to twist and stretch, flooding the area in complete darkness.

His domain, "Soul Cage," wrapped around them a realm of endless shadow and suffocating cold.

The girl stopped in her tracks, noticing the eerie shift around her. She shivered, glancing around in confusion. "Uh… excuse me? Is this some kind of joke?" She laughed nervously, trying to sound unimpressed but clearly rattled.

Sebastian took a slow, deliberate step forward, his voice calm but laced with danger. "Oh no, not a joke. This is just… my world."

She blinked, looking at him like he'd lost his mind. "Your world? Seriously? Are you some pervert?

Sebastian's smirk deepened. "Cute. But I'm serious."

With a casual flick of his wrist, the darkness around them swirled, bowing to his will, as if the shadows themselves were his obedient servants. The stars above dimmed, swallowed by his domain. Her eyes went wide, the nervous laughter vanishing as the shadows seemed to close in.

Her gaze darted around, her breathing quickening. She took a shaky step back. "Wait… who are you?"

Sebastian chuckled, almost amused. "Now, that's a question you'll have to earn the answer to." His tone grew colder, sharper, draining all warmth. "But I didn't come here for introductions. I came for the truth."

She tilted her head, raising an eyebrow. "The truth? Listen, old man, I have no idea what you're even on about."

Really?" He leaned in, voice dropping to a deadly whisper. "Because I think you know exactly what I'm talking about." His gaze pinned her, unyielding. "So, tell me what I want to know… or I'll make sure Soul Cage lives up to its name."

She crossed her arms, trying to hide her unease with a forced smirk. "Pfft, Soul Cage? Really? What are you, a fanstsy novel villain?"

Sebastian blinked, momentarily thrown off. His smirk returned, wider and more amused. "You're… surprisingly mouthy for someone trapped in my shadows."

"Yeah, well, I've seen worse. Like, maybe a guy with a cheesy villain name, chasing a girl in dark alleys. Ever think how creepy you sound?"

His expression tightened slightly, though his amusement didn't fade. "Amusing, but you're not off the hook just yet." He stepped closer, shadows following his every move like a loyal pet. "Now, I'll ask one last time. What were you doing in that alley?"

Her face paled slightly, but she raised her chin defiantly. "I was just… taking a walk!"

"At midnight?" He arched an eyebrow, clearly not buying it. "Alone? In the most dangerous part of town?"

"Yes!" She threw her hands up. "I like a little… thrill, okay?"

Sebastian sighed(-_-), pinching the bridge of his nose in a rare moment of exasperation. "Thrill? You do realize there's a killer on the loose?"

"Oh, so now you're worried about my safety?" She rolled her eyes. "You're literally the scariest thing in this alley right now, shadow guy."

Ok enough yapping

Dropping his emperor guise, Sebastian allowed his true form to emerge. His black tailcoat hugged his frame perfectly, exuding an elegance that made even the smallest movement seem regal. His shoes shone under the eerie light, his gloved hands carrying an air of undeniable authority. His dark-black hair framed his face, and his golden eyes held an intensity that was nothing short of otherworldly. Around him, shadows coiled and shifted, swirling like an endless night under his command.

The girl's jaw dropped, her eyes widening in shock. She'd heard of spiritual masters, in anicent stories, but this was something entirely different. This power wasn't spiritual qi; it was like staring into the depths of something ancient, something that should not exist in her world.

Sebastian chuckled, a low, amused sound. "Surprised?" he asked, his tone calm yet teasing. "Did you really think this world was all there is?"

She took a shaky step back, unable to tear her gaze away. His presence was overwhelming, his aura something even the most powerful immortals could only dream of.

She finally managed to find her voice, her tone barely a whisper. "What… what are you?"

Sebastian smirked, tilting his head slightly. "Relax. If I wanted to hurt you, I would've done it already." He took a step closer, his golden eyes narrowing. "I'm only here for answers."

His eyes glinted with satisfaction, a predatory gleam. "You'll understand soon enough." His voice dropped to a mysterious whisper. "Let's just say… I know what you are."

Confusion flickered across her face. "What do you mean, what I am?" she replied, almost sounding annoyed despite herself. "I'm just a regular person! You're the one with shadows and weird lights."

Sebastian chuckled, clearly entertained. "Oh, please," he said, feigning a sigh of disbelief. " You possess something special little girl ."

She stared at him, totally lost. "Uh… okay, sure. If I did, trust me, I'd know and I'm not little girl"

He shook his head, amused by her ignorance. "It's called the Cosmic Primordial Physique," he said, as if the words alone explained everything.

"Cosmic… Primordial… what?" she stammered, the words barely sinking in. "Is that, like, cool power or something?"

Sebastian's eyebrow twitched, suppressing a laugh. "yes," he replied, smirking. "It means you're far more than ordinary. You carry something unique… something I intend to understand."

She crossed her arms, looking skeptical. "Look, uncle, I don't know where you're getting this Cosmic What-Now business, but I'm just me. I don't even get good grades."

"Oh?" Sebastian's smirk widened(¬‿¬). "So, you're saying all those 'thrill-seeking' adventures aren't just a little bit… unnatural?" His tone was laced with a playful accusation.

She huffed, visibly flustered. "Hey, those are just… hobbies! Everyone has hobbies!"

"Not everyone sneaks into unknown places at midnight," he replied smoothly. "But alright, pretend you're 'just you.'" His golden eyes sparkled with amusement as he leaned closer, voice dropping to a near-whisper. "All you need to do… is stay still."

She gulped, suddenly feeling the weight of his presence. "Stay… still? For what?"

Sebastian lifted a gloved hand, hovering it just inches from her face, his gaze never wavering. "Oh, nothing too dramatic," he murmured, his smirk deepening. "I just need a moment to see for myself."

The shadows around them thickened, their darkness consuming everything but the glimmer of his golden eyes. She tensed, barely able to breathe, frozen under the weight of his aura.

In a last burst of defiance, she threw her hands up. "Fine! Do whatever shadowy villain thing you need to do but don't blame me when you realize I'm just a very normal person."

Sebastian chuckled, that glint of amusement still in his gaze. "We'll see," he said, his voice low and hypnotic. "And if you aren't normal? Then things are about to get… very interesting...
