Chapter 61 - Chapter 190: The End of the Battle of New York

With that thought, Syd glanced at the still-active Mirror Dimension and directed his attention to Kaecilius. "Dispel the Mirror Dimension."

Kaecilius and the other sorcerers, who were already anxious, were stunned by his command.

How could this person know about the Mirror Dimension?

It was inconceivable for anyone to know that.

In a moment, Kaecilius and the others looked at Syd with a mix of shock and suspicion.

However, as soon as Syd mentioned the Mirror Dimension, they quickly realized his knowledge was genuine.

Kaecilius' mind raced, but before he could plot anything, Syd, floating in the air, casually added, "I know more about the Mirror Dimension than you do. If you're smart, you won't make any futile moves."

Listening to Syd's warning, Kaecilius and the sorcerers sighed in resignation.

Clearly, knowing the term "Mirror Dimension" was not just bluster. They dared not make any small moves under these circumstances.

The next moment, Kaecilius raised his hand and dispelled the Mirror Dimension spell.

With the spell undone, everything returned to its original state.

Syd took one last look at the people below before soaring away with the Tesseract and the Scepter.

As they watched him leave, Captain America and the others wanted to stop him but were powerless to do so, merely watching his figure vanish.

"Ugh, this White Knight is so mysterious. Not only is he an Omega mutant, but he also seems to be a deity from Asgard, knowing so much about things like the Infinity Stones and the Mirror Dimension spell..."

Dr. Banner, having reverted to his human form and using something to cover himself, couldn't help but express his awe.

The silent Captain America and others silently agreed. The White Knight was as enigmatic as the Messiah, both powerful and shrouded in mystery.

"Maybe all Omega mutants are like this?" Tony Stark quipped. "Well, at least the New York battle is finally over."

Captain America's gaze shifted to the nearby area, his tone serious. "Not yet!"

He was looking at Loki and the Chitauri commander.

Thor and the others were startled, realizing there were still some troublesome foes left.

In the next moment, all eyes were focused on Loki, the Chitauri commander, and a few remaining Chitauri.

Loki and the Chitauri commander, along with some remaining Chitauri, changed their expressions.

Unfortunately, even if they wanted to flee, it was already too late.

Facing the combined forces of Thor, Tony Stark, and the others, the Chitauri commander and his forces had only one outcome: defeat.

However, when they attempted to capture Loki, an unexpected turn of events occurred.

"Loki!" Thor roared, glaring ahead.

In response to Thor's lightning attack, Loki remained unaffected, his figure perfectly intact.

It turned out that what Thor had been attacking was merely a projection. The real Loki had seized the opportunity and left when the Mirror Dimension was dispelled.

"My dear brother, we'll meet again next time."

Loki mocked, and under Thor's furious gaze, he disappeared from sight.

Thor, now left with no choice, shifted his focus to the Chitauri commander.

"Loki!" The Chitauri commander, as he was captured, glared at the vanishing Loki with fury and resentment.

It was clear that he was angry and unwilling to accept Loki's escape.

Tony Stark raised his hand, ready to deal with the Chitauri commander.

But before he could act, Captain America stopped him.

"Stark, we can't kill him yet," Captain America sighed. "Fury wouldn't approve of it either."

Tony Stark frowned, shrugged, and lowered his hand with a hint of irritation. "You politicians always complicate things."

Clearly, Fury probably feared that killing the commander would provoke the Chitauri into an even more relentless invasion or use it as a bargaining chip for some kind of negotiation.

Tony Stark, fed up with the political intricacies, ignored the Chitauri commander and left him to Captain America.

As they dealt with the Chitauri commander, Kaecilius opened a yellow portal and, along with other sorcerers, quickly departed.

Even if Captain America and the others wanted to stop them, by the time they reacted, the sorcerers had already mostly evacuated.

Resigned to this, they focused on cleaning up the remaining Chitauri forces.

While they handled the remnants, Syd continued to fly high above New York, carefully observing the aftermath of the battle.

The battle had been extensive, with all of New York serving as the battlefield. Stark Tower was just the focal point, making it more prominent.

Syd knew that the battle had involved not just the sorcerers but also the Ancient One, who had defended the mystical sanctum of New York without making a direct appearance.

During the battle, she had also dealt with many of the Chitauri foot soldiers.

Syd wasn't surprised by her indirect involvement.

As the Supreme Sorcerer of Earth, her direct intervention could have caused numerous unpredictable outcomes.

Moreover, her primary concern was still protecting the sanctum from dimensional demons like Dormammu. Loki's antics were not significant enough to warrant her direct attention.

Ensuring the sanctum's protection and preventing the magic barrier from failing and allowing dimensional demons to invade was her main priority.

"If things had gone according to the original timeline, Dr. Banner would probably have already gone to the sanctum to look for the Time Stone, right?"

Syd mused, thinking about the Avengers' time-traveling to obtain the stones.

However...

With his superior vision, Syd meticulously examined the battlefield in New York and found no suspicious individuals.

Even...

"The Tesseract and the Scepter are still with me. If someone had traveled through time, they would have come looking for these."

"Even if they couldn't defeat me, they likely wouldn't give up easily. They'd probably try to negotiate or reason with me."

Syd shook his head.

Clearly, he was almost certain that no Avengers had traveled through time to this point.

"Is it because of my influence?" Syd pondered.

"It seems the future has changed dramatically..."

"Well, maybe not. I'm a kind of anomaly. The Avengers might not have traveled back due to my influence, but it's possible they might still travel back in the future."

Given his existence, anything could happen in the future. It was constantly changing based on his thoughts at the time.
