Under the host's extremely awkward expression, Mikoto graciously took the microphone and said a few casual words to ease the tension.

In that moment, Sister Biribiri seemed like an angel in everyone's eyes.

As the crowd celebrated the victory, Alexander silently clapped along for his team.

"This game is just bullying people," he muttered with a helpless sigh. Then, without lingering, he turned and began to leave.

As the awards ceremony wrapped up, the audience also started to disperse. Just as Alexander was about to exit, his phone suddenly rang.

"Officer Megure? Why is he calling?"

Seeing the caller ID, Alexander paused in thought for a moment. The late-night call from Officer Megure piqued his curiosity, but he eventually picked up.

"Hello, Officer Megure. What's going on? Has another descendant appeared?"

Alexander's calm tone contrasted with the slight awkwardness in Officer Megure's voice.

"Well… Alexander, this time, I'm not sure if it's about a descendant."

"You're not sure?" Alexander's brow furrowed.

"You see," continued Officer Megure, "in the past, whenever descendants appeared, we'd just tell them where you lived and let them seek you out themselves. But this time, it's a bit… different."

"What's different?" Alexander asked, puzzled. "Are you saying they don't want to find me this time?"

"Exactly. This particular individual seems to have no intention of contacting you. To be precise, we only realized this person was a descendant after consulting with an excellent detective. The thing is… this descendant hasn't made any direct appearances or left any obvious signs!"

"Huh?" Alexander was even more confused. "Then how did you confirm they're a descendant?"

Officer Megure sighed on the other end of the line.

"Alexander, there have been numerous deaths recently—and the circumstances surrounding them are very strange. Myocardial infarctions, car crashes, falls from cliffs, even choking on water. There's a wide variety of causes."

"Those sound like normal ways to die," Alexander pointed out, unconvinced.

"Well, yes," admitted Officer Megure, "the causes of death seem ordinary. They appear to be accidents. But…"

"But what?" Alexander asked, his interest now fully piqued.

"The victims… they're all criminals. Every last one of them. And these deaths only started happening recently. What's more, there are no witnesses, no murder evidence, and no traces left behind. It's all just… too coincidental. Almost impossibly so."

Officer Megure didn't know exactly what was happening. He had no evidence to prove these people were murdered. Yet, as a seasoned police officer with years of experience, he could say with certainty that something about this situation was far from normal.

"So, because you don't believe these are all accidents, you've come to me?" Alexander asked.

"That's right," Officer Megure confirmed. "A friend of mine once said, ''All accidents are actually inevitable.'' So… please, help me think. Are there any characters from your world of anime who could pull something like this off?"

Hearing this, Alexander began to ponder.

"Let me think… There are quite a few possibilities. The 'Shinigami' from the 'Shinigami' world? The Goddess of Fate from 'Olympus Star Legend'? The young lady from the Scarlet Devil Mansion? Or… Light Yagami from 'Death Note'... Wait…!"

Alexander's expression shifted as the realization hit him.

"That's it! Someone targeting criminals, causing natural deaths, and leaving no traces for the police to find! All of this lines up perfectly with Light Yagami!"

"Officer Megure, I… I think I know who's behind this."

"Who?"

"Using the 'Death Note'! 'Light Yagami!'"

In a small, dimly lit room on the outskirts of town, a figure sat deep in thought, pen in hand. He carefully placed the pen down and gazed at the name he had just written.

Alexander Chase.

But this wasn't a practice in calligraphy—it was far more sinister. The notebook before him was no ordinary one. It was the 'Death Note.' And this man's name was Light Yagami.

Light, the protagonist of 'Death Note,' was a man suffocated by the mundanity of the world. He believed society was rotting from within and dreamed of creating a new world—one free of crime.

One fateful day, he stumbled upon the 'Shinigami's' Death Note. From that moment, he resolved to use it to eliminate criminals, one by one, and bring his vision of a perfect world to life.

---

"Light, haven't you already confirmed it? Writing this person's name is pointless."

A voice echoed behind Light. A figure appeared out of thin air—it was Ryuk, a 'Shinigami' from the world of 'Death Note.'

Hearing Ryuk's words, Light offered a helpless, bitter smile.

"I didn't expect this either. There are beings in this world who can't be killed by the Death Note."

"Perhaps the rules of this world differ from ours," Ryuk replied, his gaze fixed on the Death Note. His curiosity was piqued. Even he wanted to understand if the notebook held any significance in this unfamiliar world.
