Even the Blood Tiger Soul King, seeing Lin Yu charge toward him, could do nothing to stop the onslaught. Lin Yu's next punch shattered both of the Soul King's arms, the force of the blow continuing through and slamming into his chest. The Blood Tiger Soul King spat out a mouthful of blood as he was launched into the air, crashing into the crowd like a broken doll.
From the moment Lin Yu summoned his Golden Dragon spirit to the moment he crushed his opponents, barely ten seconds had passed.
The fight had ended so quickly that the onlookers were left speechless.
That's it? they thought in stunned silence.
Even the knight captain guarding the iron gate was left in shock. He had seen Lin Yu enter the fight, dispatching the Blood Tiger Soul King and the other Soul Elders without using any soul skills at all. It was a sight to behold.
Could this boy be training himself for life inside the Slaughter City? he wondered, amazed by what he had just witnessed.

Liu Erlong, having watched the battle from the sidelines, finally exhaled, feeling a huge weight lifted from her chest. She had been worried for nothing—Lin Yu had won, and she could finally relax.
"You may proceed," the knight captain said after regaining his composure.
With that, the armored guards in front of the iron gate stepped aside, revealing the passage beyond.
"Sister Erlong, I'll wait for you on the other side," Lin Yu called back to Liu Erlong with a smile before turning and walking through the gate. After receiving his identification token, he disappeared into the shadows of the tunnel.
Behind the iron gate lay a wide, sloping passage, its walls made of pitch-black stone. This was the path leading deep underground to the Slaughter City itself—a place Lin Yu could see clearly with the help of his Dual-Pupils Spirit.
But he wasn't in a hurry. He stood near the gate, waiting for Liu Erlong to join him.
Through the enhanced vision of his spirit, he observed the outside world. The next round of life-and-death combat had already begun, and, as promised, Liu Erlong stepped into the ring.
With her powerful Fire Dragon spirit and the strength of a Soul Sage, Liu Erlong made quick work of the other participants, her victory was practically guaranteed from the start.
Once she had eliminated her opponents, the knight captain announced her as the winner. The gate opened again, and the guards stepped aside to allow her through.
After receiving her identification token, Liu Erlong stepped into the darkness, the world beyond the gate growing dim.
"Sister Erlong, come with me. The Slaughter City is just ahead."
Lin Yu, seeing her through his spirit-enhanced vision, approached and gently took her hand. As he led her through the dark passage, his voice was calm and reassuring.
